First of all, those three schools should have been Miss State, Tennessee, and Indiana - I screwed up the list that Dale Ferguson had said was pursuing his son. Having said that, my question remains - are they recruiting him as a 2 or a 1? I understand the positions everyone took - at least I thought I did - not sure whether Eta thinks he can or can't play the 2 in the SEC - but I thought Dale would like to chime in with an answer. That's all.

Sounds to me like Rico is ready to be an NBA lottery pick as a junior in high school.

 

I love Elliott County and the way they play, I think Ferguson is a great shooter and I think he will go DI. I am for Elliott County to win the sweet sixteen. I would vote for Ferguson as a 1st team allstate player. He is my favorite player this season along with Hood and the kid at Moore.

 

I cheer agaist Holmes every game this season, I don't know if Rico is better this season or not, but he will be a difference maker when he gets to the college level. Johnson can go anywhere and play! Ferguson has to go to a program that fits his style, Johnson can play anywhere. I think Ferguson is as athletic and basically the same player as Lofton at this point in their careers, maybe a very slight edge to Lofton. Tennessee used Lofton until they got athletes and then he quit being the primary option as a senior.

 

Both are great Kentucky high school basketball players and no one should be critical of either.

You know after listening to some of the posters talk about players like Jenkins, players from the Holmes team, and the Elliott Co. team I find it impossible for these high school kids to live up to the hype. Is Ferguson the next Chris Lofton. I would say there is a 99% chance that he is not. But who is? I just think a lot of these kids are being over-hyped a little and from somewhere (family, fans, bgp posters, or somewhere else) these kids are getting too much pressure put on them.

Just curious as I never saw Lofton play in high school, but how or what makes him better then Ferg at this stage? Also, it says something to score 3000+ points in your career.

I'm not knocking Ferguson ... he's a fine player. But if they were in the same class, I would have no hesitation in voting for Lofton for Mr. Basketball.

Great post! Some people should learn if you can't say something good or positive, maybe it's best to say nothing at all.

 

The reason I say this is because these kids that some of these so-called adults criticize get on here and read what is posted on this site. What do they accomplish by downgrading someone else's opinion about a player?

With Lofton, I found his eight Sweet 16 games in 2003 and 2004. The 2002 boxscores (two games) weren't available on the KHSAA's website.

Just to show you can pick certain games and make anybody look bad or good!! You picked 8 for him and 4 for Ferg!! Well I did a little research myself and here is some numbers!! We had 4 games for Jonathan so I went to Chris's EIGHT games and picked 4

 

In the four games Lofton averaged 22.7! He was 32/70 from field( 45.7%)

He was 10/36 from 3-pt range( 27.7%). He was 17-19 from stripe(89.4%)

Still a little ahead of Ferg but not near as far ahead as with all eight! Jonathan could have played four more and been lights out who knows! I have one other Glitch to throw in......2 of Fergs 4 games he was a sophomore(big difference)!!

 

I didn't bring up the Lofton thing but I am going to concede it!! Ferg isn't nothing more than an average player!! He isn't even close to the caliber of Rico, Elijah, Lofton or none of those guy's! He probably will not even be able to move on to the next level!! You guy's win...He lose's! Can we all lay off of him now??????????
