Just to show you can pick certain games and make anybody look bad or good!! You picked 8 for him and 4 for Ferg!!

I didn't pick "certain games" for Ferguson. I picked the three Sweet 16 games that he has played in and the one All A Classic game that he played against quality competition. I deliberately didn't look for the All A Classic loss to Paintsville during his sophomore year because he played with a bad ankle.

 

Chris Lofton is one of the best big-game players this state has ever seen. That automatically sets him apart from most players.

I have one other Glitch to throw in......2 of Fergs 4 games he was a sophomore(big difference)!!

I don't have the stats available for the two Sweet 16 games that Lofton played as a sophomore, but I can come up with them sometime today. As I recall, he had a big first game (several threes in a win over Butler) and only six points in a loss to Paducah Tilghman.

I didn't bring up the Lofton thing but I am going to concede it!! Ferg isn't nothing more than an average player!! He isn't even close to the caliber of Rico, Elijah, Lofton or none of those guy's! He probably will not even be able to move on to the next level!! You guy's win...He lose's! Can we all lay off of him now??????????

Sounds to me like Rico is ready to be an NBA lottery pick as a junior in high school.

 

I love Elliott County and the way they play, I think Ferguson is a great shooter and I think he will go DI. I am for Elliott County to win the sweet sixteen. I would vote for Ferguson as a 1st team allstate player. He is my favorite player this season along with Hood and the kid at Moore.

 

I cheer agaist Holmes every game this season, I don't know if Rico is better this season or not, but he will be a difference maker when he gets to the college level. Johnson can go anywhere and play! Ferguson has to go to a program that fits his style, Johnson can play anywhere. I think Ferguson is as athletic and basically the same player as Lofton at this point in their careers, maybe a very slight edge to Lofton. Tennessee used Lofton until they got athletes and then he quit being the primary option as a senior.

 

Both are great Kentucky high school basketball players and no one should be critical of either.

I'm not knocking Ferguson ... he's a fine player. But if they were in the same class, I would have no hesitation in voting for Lofton for Mr. Basketball.

 

I can give this some merit, since afterall Lofton already has his Mr. B-ball title. Jon F. is a great player and I enjoy watching him play. I wish luck to every team this post-season and hope the best make to Sat. morning.

I think whoever wins MR. Basketball this year will truely be a great player, afterall look at the competion he will have beat. I think there are alot of deserving individuals and just getting your name mentioned should equal success in my book.

Nobody has ever said the kid wasn't good...his numbers speak for themself. Just because we don't agree that he's the same caliber player as someone else, doesn't mean we're knocking him and think he's a bad player.

 

I personally enjoy watching Ferg play. I've said time after time that his range is unlimited. But there are certain qualities that others have as well that make them stick out a little more to me...nothing wrong with that. This is a public forum to voice your OPINION.

Yeah I agree with that as well. Phares from what Ive seen and from the stats I have seen has only had 1 bad game this year. That was against Holmes where he also stayed in foul trouble and seemed to not play even half the game. Hes been pretty dominant most of the year. Also, from what I have seen I don't believe Ricardo Johnson should be on the 1st team. Is he 1st team as far as talent goes? Yes I believe he is. But I just don't think hes had that big of a year. A big part of that is probably the talent around him.

I completely agree. Thats just how Id rank em right now as far as seniors go. A lot can change between now and the end of the season.

 

Last year I believe anyone who would look at the situation objectively would probably say that Shelvin Mack had a better season than Darius Miller (and definitly looks like the better player right now in college), but Miller led his team to a state title.
