Who is then? I hadn't kept up with it that close, but I have seen Ballard play 3 times and in all 3 games he has played very well. I have also seen where he has scored well in some big games I have seen the boxscore on.

Chad Jackson could be replaced by one of the Elliott Co. trio. However I believe he is playing as good as anybody in the state right now. He is the closest the state has to a triple-double type player.

I would be shocked if CJ Penny from Anderson wasn't 1st or 2nd team all-state. Anderson has played a very tough schedule and Penny hasn't been outplayed in any of those games yet.

We had this discussion at the King of the Bluegrass. Penny is effective in the paint as a power forward. Not much of a guard or wing without shooting range, handles, and passing skills. He's strong in the post and very crafty and does get his share of putbacks. Anderson County does a great job of utilizing his inside game. Nothing wrong with that.

Is there a requirement that the first teamers have to be a 1,2,3 4, and a 5? I honestly don't know.

 

No. People just usually try to take the 5 players and fill them in a roster some way. Usually listed like G G F F F, so all three F could be a 3 or even a 2.

I don't think anyone has ever said they'd be NBA lottery picks.

 

People can't deny the fact though that Pittman is a very good HIGH SCHOOL player. What's the big deal with saying so? It's not like I'm the only one who has said he should be first team all state, so why is my post the only one quoted? Also, Rico and JJ have barely even been mentioned in this discussion and JJ not at all, atleast not by me, so why were those two even brought up? :idunno:

 

The way people talk about Ferg and the Faulkners, you'd think they were going to be NBA lottery picks as well. Not only are they the best seniors in the state, but they're hands down the best scorers and shooters. I guess it's ok for a few to pump up their players, but not others...right? :notworthy:

Dunks are worth 2 points, but they bring energy to a team, especially at the high school level. Dunks also shows a players ability to play above the rim which is a sign that they are athletic enough for DII and DI levels. I can't think of a higher percentage shot than when the ball is forced through the rim.

 

You also could hurt your hand here in the month of Febraury & not be available to your team when needed most - Tournament time! They should be thinking about the team & not showing they can play D1 just because they can dunk.
