Maybe Holmes was reading the thread on how their path to winning the sweet 16 was going to play out.

Scott is a top 20 team...Holmes isn't going to blow everyone out by 20+.

Never said anything about blowing folks out by 20, you did.

Read some of my predictions from past threads. Very rarely have I predicted Holmes to win by 20+.

Henley is a classy coach and honestly isn't going to beat a team by 20+ unless that team is just that bad and can't play with Holmes' second and third 5.

Where is Scott ranked in the top 20? I must have missed that.

Congratulations on gutting a victory out by the way.

Every one Holmes plays is a top team!!!!!!!!!!

I actually went earlier to look, as well. Scott is not ranked in any polls I looked at. I missed it too.

I think the lesson is that given the right (or wrong, depending on your point of view) circumstances (e.g. foul trouble), anybody is vulnerable.

Congrats to the Bulldogs on the win.

Congrats to the Eagles; the 3rd ranked (by most accounts) team in the 10th apparently played a whale of a game. Many of us have been saying all season that Scott will not go quietly in the 10th region tourney this year.

Hmmm...I don't think anyone has ever said that EVERY team Holmes plays is a top team.

According to the maxpreps rankings though Holmes has played and beaten the following top 25 teams:

#1 Scott Co

#4 Ballard

#7 Bryan Station

#15 Franklin Co

#23 Scott

#24 Tates Creek

They also play #8 Boone (2/10) and #19 Highlands (2/6). That's 8 top 25 teams right there according to one poll.

According to the BGP poll, Holmes has played and beaten the following top 20 teams:

#2 Scott Co

#6 Ballard

#7 Bryan Station

#10 Seneca

#19 Franklin Co

They also play #17 Hazard on 2/7.

According to Cantrall's ratings, Holmes has played and beaten the following top 25 teams:

#1 Scott Co

#5 Ballard

#11 Bryan Station

#12 Seneca

#25 Tates Creek

Need I say more? I think their resume speaks for itself that they play tough competition night in and night out.

Once again...Coach Carr has his teams ready to play the best and they play their best. A close game between two close friends Henley and Carr would have been awesome to witness myself.

This type of game will benefit Holmes as well. Both coaches are as good at preparing their teams as anyone around.

Since about Christmas, Cov. Scott has made a complete make-over for the better...

Congrats to both teams on an outstanding game.

I WAS at the game today. Scott was VERY impressive! Nice dunk Jake!!!!

Everyone should be Proud of the Eagles, Coach Carr and his Staff.

That Newcath team also had no where near the talent of this Holmes team and the 9th was a lot tougher back then than it is this year.

Again...no team in the 9th should knock Holmes off this year. We'll know more here in the next week when Holmes plays #3 Highlands Fri, top 20 Hazard sat, and At #2 Boone Mon.

I can't wait to prompt ETA to review our discussion from a few days ago in the 'Can Holmes Run The Table' thread. Maybe I'm not so delusional after all. :idunno:

You were right and Holmes certainly got a scare today. I told you if they lost a game it'd be on the road. One road win down, one to go. (@ Boone 2/10)

Only other road game is against a bad SK team. I'll stick by my initial post that Holmes runs the table in nky. I don't see anyone being able to beat them at Holmes. They showed a lot of character today being able to overcome the adversity that most other teams would have cracked under. This is good experience for them. They haven't had to win a game yet that was back and forth the whole game.
