Great game to watch. Scott brought it the whole game. I would have really liked to see my Bulldogs taste a loss before tourney time and really wanted Brad Carr to get the win. Coach Carr kept us entertained the whole game!

To say the least....:lol: Carr is VERY intense with his players.

 

I think a win like this though is better than a loss.

Arnold lost his composure yesterday but let's not leave out the facts. Arnold was standing there waiting for the ball to be inbounded and Smith kept walking in to him with his chest up against Arnold but hands down to his side. Arnold simply took his forearm and kinda nudged Smith away from him.

 

I saw it a bit differently. The play happened right in front of me. Arnold had Smith trapped after Smith had advanced the ball just beyond the 1/2 court line, a step or 2 in bounds. The ref was well in to a 5 second count when Smith turned and bounced the ball off of Arnold's lower leg. It was not a malicious play by Smith. After the ball went out of bounds - possession retained by Scott- Arnold put a shoulder into Smith. Smith did not back down and leaned his shoulder back into Arnold. This went on for a couple of seconds. As Smith broke contact and took a step away, Arnold pushed his forearm (from behind) into Smith...out on an island...with play stopped...right in front of 2 refs... in overtime.

Actually when Smith threw the ball off Arnold's leg he was trying to get by Arnold and Arnold just kind of stood there...Smith walked in to him which is when Arnold kind of nudged him with the shoulder...Smith then tried walking by him again but clearly was trying to make sure he bumped in to Arnold and that's when Arnold nudged him with the forearm. The fans on the Scott side started screaming and yelling and the BACK OFFICIAL in front of the Scott crowd, not the one IN FRONT OF THE INCIDENT called the technical. It was actually probably 2 or 3 seconds after it happened that the tech was called. It wasn't called as soon as the incident occured. The front official, standing right by the two, was actually going to let it go.

Exactly how it happened, I am a Holmes fan and I was sitting not to far from where the tech was thrown.( I have freinds who live in Taylor Mill,not to mention one of my daughters went to Scott. My youngest son has played in the Taylor Mill Leagues and also been to a couple of Brads basketball camps.) There was some talking along with it and Arnold wasn't doing the talking.

I wasn't at the game, but from what I heard the sophmore Smith for Scott played very well and was on fire. If he continues to play this well I definately see Scott going to the State Tournament this year.

He did in deed play a terrific game, but Scott has to probably get by GRC and Mason to win the 10th, and Scott has lost twice to GRC one being at Scott and the other at GRC. Also, take into consideration that both wins by GRC were by around 10 points each and GRC was missing key players each time. Plus, Scott also lost to Mason at Scott by 20.

 

Scott could get to Rupp, but beating the two teams I mentioned would take a tremendous run. We will have to wait and see.

The end of the game was very exciting. With Pittman on the bench Rico took over the game, like I know he can.

 

Holmes played very sloppy in the 1st half, I wonder how many turnovers they had? The ticky tac fouls and turnovers is what kept Scott in the game. They are very dangerous but they shouldn't of been in the game. Like what others mentioned, the only ninth region team that can beat Holmes, is Holmes.

 

Any other team in nky, that played as bad as Holmes did, with the fouls would of definitley lost. Holmes has to much talent, and thats why the won this game. At the end Holmes got it together, and with a little bit of luck (Smith missing the game winning free throw) Holmes came out with the W

Both GRC and Mason are the better teams and it will be an upset if Scott beat them but the gap isn't as big as some people try to make it out to be.

They did earlier this year. It was only a 5-point game with about 2 1/2 minutes left in the 4th when Mason caught fire and Scott ran out of gas that resulted in the ultiimate score.

Agreed. I think it just depends which team shows up for Scott. They were extremely hot after the Moeller game earlier in the year (played with GRC @ GRC in a 3-point game to the last minute) but then slowly started to cool off especially in the Kenton County Classic. I think Carr got them revamped after that and now they seem to be back on track with them scoring a 100 against Bracken and then taking Holmes down the wire in OT. But right now Scott is a solid #3 in the region with Mason #1 and GRC #2. One of those 3 will win the 10th and thats assured. Even though I am a Scott homer and my heart wants Scott to win, my head tells me Mason will come out of the region. However, as some people on here, etc who don't follow the 10th as much as I and several people here do, they don't know exactly how much better each team is over the other. Scott has a legit chance of winning the region. Just not as good of a chance as say GRC and Mason. The gap isn't as big as some make it out to be.
