Holmes 67 Scott 66 (OT)

Featured Replies

Agreed. I think it just depends which team shows up for Scott. They were extremely hot after the Moeller game earlier in the year (played with GRC @ GRC in a 3-point game to the last minute) but then slowly started to cool off especially in the Kenton County Classic. I think Carr got them revamped after that and now they seem to be back on track with them scoring a 100 against Bracken and then taking Holmes down the wire in OT. But right now Scott is a solid #3 in the region with Mason #1 and GRC #2. One of those 3 will win the 10th and thats assured. Even though I am a Scott homer and my heart wants Scott to win, my head tells me Mason will come out of the region. However, as some people on here, etc who don't follow the 10th as much as I and several people here do, they don't know exactly how much better each team is over the other. Scott has a legit chance of winning the region. Just not as good of a chance as say GRC and Mason. The gap isn't as big as some make it out to be.

Scott is no doubt the #3 team in the 10th and are right on the heels of Mason and GRC. I totally agree that it will either be Mason, GRC, or Scott that comes out of the 10th.

Should be a great 10th region tourney.

Just because Scott loses by 1 to Holmes doesn't mean they are now a top 20 team. They haven't been in the top 20 all season. They lost to both Boone and Highlands, as well as some other teams they should have beaten. They are a dangerous, good team, but their record is 15-7. So, are Highlands and Boone in the top 20 too?

Scott hasnt lost to Highlands and have not played them yet. They have been ranked in the top 20 actually they were 15 in Cantralls rankings so research before you comment because you were wrong on two comments.:fight:

Agreed, I think whichever team gets the better draw in the regional has the better chance. As of right now though I would have to go with Mason just because they are playing some good ball as of late and have beaten Scott heads up. However, I'd like to see Scott come out on top.:thumb:

Lastly, who does the 10th play in the first round of the sweet 16?

The 10th region winner plays the 15th winner in the first round. It will probably be Shelby Valley making it to Rupp from the 15th.

Well, can't wait to watch the 10th and 9th region tourney's at NKU.:thumb:

I can't wait either. :thumb:

Holmes had 26 turnovers in this game but shot 56% from the field. :idunno:

Scott played well in this game but I'd say the 26 turnovers were a big reason for them being able to hang around.

I hate to even bring this up but if you have watched Holmes play over the years as much as I think you have, you know that the zebras have always made Holmes teams earn everything they get. They traditionally give them no breaks and I have personally had some of them tell me they never will!! They could stop this team from achieving greatness with a few crucial whistles here and there.

And you don't think other schools don't get that ?

My mistake vs. Highlands. That will be a good game on the 17th. Yet they are still only 15-7 and have been inconsistent at times. Depends on which poll you look at I guess.

Scott's defensive style tends to force a lot of turnovers when they are playing well. Holmes just has such tremondous finishers that they were able to convert when they were able to break the pressure.

I agree but I'm not so sure ALL of those turnovers were forced by Scott's pressure. A lot passes down low that went off Arnold, JJ, and Pittman's hands out of bounds. All three of those players had 5 turnovers. Also a lot of travelling/walk calls against Holmes..that's been a problem for them over the past few games.

I agree but a couple of those were the result of Scott scrambling around making everything frenetic.

There were a couple of walk calls on both sides that were :idunno:!

Yea I agree. Seemed to be a lot of "make up" calls both ways.

Why didn't Scott pressure and trap more with Riley and Pittman on the bench? It seemed to be effective the few times they did it with those two out.

Most fans and I mean like 95% don't truly understand the walk rule.
