Holmes 67 Scott 66 (OT)

Featured Replies

Elliott would be ripped to shreds, IMO. It would be a 3-page thread about how they play a week schedule, how its different to play in tougher regions, and how they are overrated. Again, that's just my opinion, but I base it on what I've seen all season on here.

Don't forget that they would say that Scott played their worst game of the year!:sssh:

Name one of the other team in nky that could have two of their top three leading scorers (Riley and Pittman) sit for a combined 4 quarters in a game and still win against Scott playing the way they did, on top of Scott being at home in front of a big crowd.

The Holmes 07-08 squad.:D:D

Weak argument considering EVERYONE who was actually at the game today has said that Scott played very well today and stayed in the game because they were that good...not because Holmes had an off night.

I wasn't responding to you pa. I was responding to the few posters who weren't even at the game that made the comments. :thumb:

I wasn't at the game...I said they may not be as far in front as some claim.

After the West Carter Elliott game you made the same comment about Elliott.

I agreed with you then... and I stand by my statement tonight.

Holmes, Elliott, Scott Co, Scott, Whitefiled Academy....we're all beatable!

Indeed everyone in the state is beatable!

very nice update and thanks for letting everyone that couldn't be there know what was going on. Excellent work between you and "Baseballguy" to keep us informed throughout.

So "baseballguy" now gets all the text updates?:madman::madman: :jump:

Some people choose to only look at the final score when they weren't at the game.

Thanks for clearing that up. :thumb:

Interesting that you would point that out. Where's that mirror at?

I did get the Slusher JV dunk text. She hates my phone period. LOL Keep em coming Eta....keep em coming.

I think Scott will be a tough out in the 10th Region tourney just like last season.

Will do. :thumb:

I agree. If Smith plays like he did today against Holmes, the rest of the season, Scott will be VERY tough to knock off.

They will be. Scott, as I think most people can agree on, is a top 25 team in the state, maybe top 20 (I believe Eta said that) according to some people.

They have solid wins over some top opponents like South Laurel, Corbin, Ryle, and some others as well. They also have played some opponents extremely tough down to the few minutes of the game like Holmes, Boone County, GRC and Mason (GRC and Mason scores were alot closer than indicated by the final score if you attended the game). The only "bad" loss this year was to Dixie but it seems that they righted the ship since then (probably due to their coach if you know how he is and its a show to watch when he is angry I might add :sssh:)

I'm glad to see Scott hold their own against Holmes on their home floor and show that this team is for real this year. Brad Carr is demonstrating why he is one the top coaches around as he always seems to develop his players and get the most out of them that he can.

I think if Elliott had the same result today that they would be hammered by a few on here. No question.

Elliott could beat the NBA Western Conference All Star team and get hammered on BGP. FYI, I am from Gallatin County so I have no allegiances. Just call 'em as I see 'em.

Scott played great tonight, good game for them, they had a huge crowd in attendence today and played up to it. They game out with energy, contested every shot. When Housley went up for a dunk early in the game and it got blocked I seen the energy of the entire scott coaching staff, players, and coaches, it was crazy. Then down the stretch when they were closing the lead and taking the lead at the end of regulation the gym went nuts. It was a great high school basketball game. Coach Carr had his guys ready to go.

Holmes has to understand that every game they play is going to be like this. Hostile enviornments on the the road and they will get every teams best shot because of there reputation right now. Nobody is going to lay down for them. Scott did an excellent job of sending that statement tonight.

Also, I don't believe in moral victories, but after the game was over and Scott fell short I seen the kids look upset for just a quick moment, then walk off the court with the students from the school creating like a little tunnel from the court to the locker room, high fiving players, laughing, joking, and really recognizing that there team nearly pulled off a huge task. It was good to see that kind of energy from the kids.

I am glad I was in attendence, just about everything about that game was good for high school sports. The only issue I could see was the brief moment where Arnold lost his cool in OT. Other than that, A+ game in my book.

Maybe Holmes was reading the thread on how their path to winning the sweet 16 was going to play out.
