Hey Boom, thanks for pointing out some good young men who will help Highlands this week against Whitley Co by running their scout team.:thumb:

Some thoughts;

 

As far as I can tell those that played on the championship Highlands teams of years ago won't be suiting up. So I don't know if the fact that Highlands was won 987 state championships has an bearing on this game. OTHER than that it shows Highlands has a great program.

 

As far as I can tell, the past scores of Highlands against Mountain teams has no impact on this Friday's game - because those teams aren't the ones playing. All it shows it PAST success.

 

Highlands won't overlook anyone.

 

I know nothing about Highlands team this year other than the scores I have seen and stories I have read. I'm sure that most Highlands fans have similar insight into Whitley County.

 

Whitley fans, players, and coaches are looking forward to seeing where the Colonels stand against one of the states top three programs. Hopefully we will measure up. If the ride ends, so be it. But it won't end without a serious effort.

 

I'll look forward to hearing Bluebird's fans impressions after the game, because there is no doubt that they understand good football and good football teams.

Good luck Whitley. No turnovers and you have a chance. Seems that HHS has a hard time stopping teams that run right at them? But then again when you score as much as they do you don't have to play a bunch of run defense b/c the other teams are playing catch-up.

The QB has 19 td's along with 9 ints. They have over 2500 passing and rushing yards so they are far from one deminsional.

Every football fan I have talked to in this area, which is several, are very excited about a program the caliber of Highlands coming to Whitley.

What class is Austin Collinsworth and does his dad usually make the trips to the games.

I saw him at Norris lake a couple of summers ago and seems like he had about 6 kids. Are the others coming up or older?

I'm pulling for the Birds on this one!!! I think the have the best Defense hands down!!!!! We sure miss Roller, but his replacements will do a fine job. :banana:

Is that enough rosters yet?

Kids who are top athletes and want to play for state championships are going to look to attend a school where they think that will happen. If a kid lives in a school district where the team rarely wins, it should be no surprise that they might to look to attend Highlands or a private school or even another good public school. Highlands is a great school and a great football program. So sure there are kids on the team that are out of their district. And let's not knock a good public school that is able to do the same thing the private schools do with players from out of district playing in their program.
