Sorry that supporting local teams when we are not playing them annoys you. Did you ever think that maybe we were friends outside of BGP's? If it's that horrible for you, don't spread your disgust and ruin our fun. Believe it or not, we are enjoying ourselves.

Now, back to this thread. I think HHS better remember how much of an underdog Ashland was against CCH in 1988 and almost ruined a championship season for the Colonels.

We'd prefer Orange with maroon stripes. We would be Ramcats and have to represent!:ylsuper:
Couldn't leave it alone could you? I was right. You guys signed a contract extension if I'm not mistaken, the lovefest isn't necessary anymore.:sssh:
Lotta tradition on the field in this game... if I weren't following the Oldham County schools in the playoffs, this would be the game I'd want to be at. I think Highlands probably wins - and maybe big - but so what? From a fan's perspective, this game is what HS football is all about. Great fan support, tremendous tradition, and good football.

Good luck to both teams; here's hoping it's a great one!

P.S. - I like seeing the Raceland / Ashland "love fest". One of the things I like about the Oldham schools is seeing the kids from the different schools in the county supporting each other in the basketball tournaments after their own team is eliminated... It's not unusual to see, say, South Oldham kids in the Oldham County cheering section (although not if South is still alive in the tournament)

Thanks, Colonel. Maybe we'll have to share the love with you Oldham Co. boys, too!:thumb:

We root for all the area teams when we are not playing them. If you noticed most of us rooted for Fairview last week also. I hope all the area teams do well, most people around the state do not give our area much credit in football, so I just hope some teams from our area can change that.

How come you don't have the same love fest with Russell? I can sick of all the sloppy kisses between you guys as well. It's enough to make a grown man puke. Sorry about that. As far as my prediciton.

Highlands 56

Ashland 6

Sorry Graybeard.:scared:

We had the extension before this season started. We just like each other, sorry.:p

How come you don't have the same love fest with Russell?

I beg your pardon, here is my post from yesterday in the Russell/Belfry thread:

Russell is playing with some emotion now, and I expect them to fight, claw, and scratch for every yard they can get. I don't know if they will win or not, but I would say this will be a real good game.

Good luck to Russell, and make North-Eastern Kentucky proud.

Let's keep this thread about Ashland/Highlands.

That's ok Tomcat4life. The high and mighty fall the hardest (from their lofty position), if you get my drift. HHS better remember that the game is played on the field and not in this thread!!!!!

Not to worry Doc. We remember and more importantly, the players and coaches at Highlands remember. This site is just a place for fans to blow a lot of hot air and make crazy predictions. Can't wait for Friday. We'll be tailgating in the parking lot across the street from the main entrance to the school if some of the fine BGPers from Ashland want to drop in and say hello before the game.

Thanks for the response, I know this is a sight for hot air. I just wanted to let Ashland know that someone had their back! Thanks for the invite to tailgate, but us Raceland guys have our hands full with a district foe on our home field Friday night.

I would love to see Ashland pull the win, but I don't expect to see it. I think the Bryan Station game was a bit of an eye opener to the Bluebirds and I do not envy Ashland this week. If Mr T. were here he would say "I Pitty The Fool Who Gonna Play Highlands This Week!" I hope Ashland can keep it close and have a chance to win it in the end, but I fear that this one may be over by halftime.

Highlands: 49

Ashland: 7

Highlands by 4 TD's.

Maybe it's just me, but referencing an "almost" and a "loss" that happened 20yrs ago just doesn't seem to be a very good motivation tool for the players.

I think we know that very well. This team will NOT be overlooked.
No, the problem last week with your prediction was caused by the fact that you played safety and wide receiver in high school. :D

And all along I thought it was because we watch films in a bar!! :dancingpa

I just hope I can get there early enough for some of that. Can you save me a plate? :D
