So most would agree that if USC goes undefeated & a team from the SEC goes undefeated, those 2 teams should be in the title game?

 

Not if a Missouri/Oklahoma/Texas, etc. were ranked ahead of the SEC winner going into the final weekend and happened to win the Big XII championship.

Personally I would love to see this happen. If we ever want a playoff of any sorts, this stuff helps the chances. IMO

If a team goes undeafeted through the SEC and does not get the chance to play in the National title something is bad wrong...

 

It already has happened before with Auburn a few years ago. The system we have now, just does not work.

I disagree, I believe the best team has won the National Title every year.

USC and Oklahoma are clearly the two best teams, and if they go undefeated they will play for the title...

Which of you SEC fans can look at it objectively and tell me, based upon current evidence, that they would feel like they had beaten the best team if an undefeated USC was not in the title game? You play the best teams, and right now, strength of schedule or not, USC is the best team.

That was in 2004. In 2003, USC had shut out Auburn at Auburn with virtually the same players. Come on . . .

I go with USC just by looking at the conferences. They faced a banged up (and overrated IMO) Ohio State game. Big deal.

 

If a team goes undefeated in the SEC look at their competition. Georgia, Florida,, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina, Auburn, LSU, UK ;-) ha jk on the last one

If a team goes undefeated in the Big 12, they face the likes of Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, etc.

 

USC faces Washington, UCLA, Stanford, etc.

Why does the conference matter? If the winner of the Big XII and Pac-10 (or any other conference for that matter) is better than the SEC winner, even if the SEC winner is undefeated, why should the SEC team automatically go to the BCS championship?

OU is not a shoe in if one of the SEC teams goes undefeated. Why you ask? The SEC is "clearly" the best conference.

SEC team now has 5 teams in the top 10 in the AP Poll and is by far the toughest conference this year as it was the last couple. The team from the SEC would be playing very possibly the toughest schedule due to conference. If a team goes undefeated in the SEC then I don't see them staying out of the championship game this year. So the SEC team imo should get in.

The next team, imo, would go to the most dominant team. It would have to be a ranking/point system to determine who played a harder schedule and dominated their opponent more than the other.

USC/Oklahoma imo look like the best 2 teams in the country as of right now. Florida with the reining Heisman trophy winnner would help their argument and Georgia the pre-season #1 are rising up there with each game I watch and they win.
