You guys act as if anything DOES happen outside the Golden Triangle...

If you'll re-read the discussion, you'll see that I was trying to emphasize that this is an issue for many parts of the state--not JUST NKY. Yes, as I said, it is a NKY issue...and other places too. But hopefully, we'll be in the Ville for years to come. Otherwise, I (and probably many more) will be forgoing ticket and concession purchases and watching it at home on ICN.

I sure as heck wouldn't sit at home if my team was playing in the state championship just because the drive is 3 hours. I'd be as happy as Borden's Cow if I only had to drive 3 hours, that's nothing.

I'm sorry... but could you explain what DOES happen inside this triangle? I've been inside this "Golden Triangle" many a time... and i'm still looking for something to impress me? For entertainment, I lean towards Nashville.

 

But thats a whole other topic... for this sake... BG is a great place to play the State Championships, and I would not be opposed to them being played there. :thumb:

I have relatives in both cities but I like the ones in Louisville better.

 

Of all the arguments concerning venue I have read in this thread, this is the strongest.:thumb: It's comforting that at least one person has his priorities straight.

 

For me personally, as long as I have access to beer (real beer, not that watered down Budweiser/Miller/etc swill) within 1/2 mile of the venue in question, I will support said location.

Does WKU have a Brown and Williamson? If not a double no no.

I though that was Borden's cow that made it to the big time doing Chick-fil-a commercials. EAT MOR CHIKIN!

 

Downtowns, public transportation, multiple shopping districts, multiple dining districts, 10+ storied buildings.

 

New York is a Megalopolis

Atlanta is a big city

Louisville is a city

Lexington is a small city

Bowling green is a town

 

So Pikeville is a city?

 

It has a downtown.

 

Sandy Valley Transportation.

 

There are multiple strip malls off of US23 .

 

Likewise with dining.

 

I also know of 2 or 3 buildings over 10+ floors.Pikeville Medical Center and the apartment building in front of Hardee's off the top of my head, and possibly two more that come to mind in downtown.

 

And for good measure, Pikeville also has a college and an Expo Center.

Personally I think they should just build a staduim in Frankfort... it's in central kentucky and were the capital.
