When a team has receivers with speed equaled by no one else you have played so far, then yes. I would say that HHS will not see that speed at receiver again. Because HHS is awfully fast in their own right, they won't have that problem again. It also took a absolute perfect throw by a very talented QB.

I heard some high praise from some of the Birds O lineman for the Central D line.

Same thing here. 54 was a beast for Central.

Man I hope you guys keep thinking that about receivers in the state because I know of a few that would prove you wrong in a heartbeat. Plus a defense that can shutdown any running game just ask Cory Farris how many times he broke anything against that D and last I checked he is the #1 RB in the state. They only scored 3 points if that tells you anything.

I was very impressed with Central's team, coaching playing, SPORTSMANSHIP. I was not happy with the lack of support/fans. I counted like 30 people in the stands aside from the band which was awesome. We sat next to them since the seats were better on their side(new stadium identical to Dixie). The band was excellent but some of their members were shocked that the Birds won. They were telling us in 3rd quarter that they were going to win, and you know what, I was nervously starting to think if something didn't culminate, they were going to be right. Great win, way to sneak out of there with a win, lets get our game faces on and stay focused.

Yep, I saw that too. I thought it was a High School rule that there is no smoking in a High School facility. Maybe not. Definitely not at CCH! I guess that's why the burgers and dogs have that smoked taste to them. Mmmmm Good!

 

On the game. Once again HHS JV dominated the other team. I know it's JV but there can't be too many other JV teams in KY. out there much better. And to think that the "best" underclassmen play up on Varsity. No disrespect to the boys playing JV! This is going to be fun the next few years in Ft. Thomas!:dancingpa

I suspect this is a not-so-subtle knock at me!!!!

 

Anyway, I agree that the 'Birds really must have played like champions in the fourth quarter, but I get a little "on edge" when HHS struggles quite a bit against a 3A program when HHS is on the cusp of entering the 5A playoffs against the likes of CCH, Woodford County, Lincoln County, Bowling Green, Owensboro, and John Hardin.

 

I do think that it's probably difficult for a team to "get up" for each and every game, even when everything (regarding the playoffs) has already been settled and there's not much riding on the game.
