I don't have the passing stats but I do know that the best QB was in the game and he proved it in the end. I do agree with working on a passing game more thoughout the year but HHS running game has been so strong this year apparently the coach has been happy with his game plan to date.

I hear you Buddy but its going to come back to bite em in the end. A good balanced offense must throw the ball 20 times min per game PERIOD.

What I meant to say is those numbers are not acceptable at a program like Highlands. It just shows a lack of balance that all.

What a difference an hour (and second halves) makes.

 

They stare at the clock down 13 points in the 4th quarter their perfect season in the balance and gut check time and score 21 unanswered points against a good team (probable 3A championship game team in Highlands class if Highlands played in the class based on the size of its school). Turn downer going into playoffs into one more strength--i.e., knowledge that they can come from behind against a good team even when down more than one touchdown in the second half. They also continue their trend of being a dominating second half team this year (because of depth and conditioning--love two deep defensive line) where they wear teams down down the stretch of games. All while Cov. Cath game turns the other direction--no disrespect there playing best team in state (and much larger school) on the road. Another great night to be a Birds fan.

Congratulations on an undefeated regular season. Coaches, players, cheerleaders, Moms & Dads, and all the Bluebird fans. Enjoy this, but there is more work to do. Lets go for it all.

You know what. It doesnt really all matter as long as the BIRDS win it all. To date they have not met a match when it comes to conditioning. They are in such great shape. That is definately what has separated them from everyone else.What a great group of Seniors, they will overcome any obstacles that lay ahead of them. Thats for sure. GO BIRDS.

Just returned home from Louisville. Man, what a gut check that was. I looked at my brother with about 10:00 minutes left and said i don't know if they can do this. They have never really been in this situation before and for them to come from behind and win was simply awesome!!!!! It was all kids tonight that won that game people. Time to put the traveling to bed for a while and enjoy some home field advantage!!!!:thumb: Fire up the cannon

Didn't do it in 2004 not sure why it is a must with the 2007 team.

There was a Bird team many moons ago that went 10-0 in the regular season as part of the longest winning streak in Highlands history (29 games) that lost in the first round of the playoffs. They lost to Conner and Conner went on to win state.

 

'Birds have to learn from tonight and not let history repeat itself.

 

Interestingly, Dixie's head coach was a senior on that team
