LBBC, if you're trying to tell me that this girl was not going to face people who talk out both sides of their mouth, we'll simply have to disagree. You can have all of the programs you want. It still comes down to a girl being made to feel welcome in the church community (and I don't count a program as being the same). Too many times, the folks in the pews sitting to your left and right (and mine) are not as loving as they proclaim.

 

Christians have no claim on being perfect and we don't claim to be.

 

Just those on the outside of the wall expect us to be and eagerly point it out when we don't.

 

Just as you are casting dispersions on Christians for talking out of both sides of their mouth, how is that different than what that young girl is complaining about being done to her. She expects Christians to be perfect but not her.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Innocent unborn child vs. murderer, how can you even begin to compare the two?

I'm back long enough to say that I'm in 100% agreement with this.

I am entirely Pro Life in regard to innocent victims... whether they are soon to be born healthy humans or adults who fall victim to depraved killers.

 

There is no contradiction in being anti-abortion and pro-death penalty for the worst of the worst within society who value human life so little THEY ultimately pass judgment upon themselves by cutting short the lives of others.

 

For millennia right up until recent times there was no question in the hearts and minds of mankind that human life was/is precious... from unborn children to those of murder victims. It is this extremely high value placed upon human life that made abortion horrible and the death penalty justifiable.

 

We live in a fallen culture that fights to extend the lives of evil men, and eviscerates infants from a mother's womb so she and the male DNA donor who partied with her to conceive the child won't have to adjust their lifestyles to accomodate a precious new life.

 

This is unconscionable, but for some reason I don't expect many to understand it as such.

These church people will have to answer to God for their judgemental minds, the same as the young lady having the abortion will have to answer to God as well. She needs to do what she knows is right in her heart and what will give her a clear conscience toward God, without worrying about how others will treat her.

 

With that said, I do think too many people in churches are too quick to look down on others whose sins may be visible, without searching their own hearts for sins that perhaps are not quite so obvious. Still, they will have to answer to God. Your personal relationship with God is between you and God,,,not you, God and the church goers.

 

My dear mother would say that all kids make mistakes. Sometimes parents have to let them make the mistakes to grow stronger. Either way, a parent must "love the child through" the mistake.

 

Jesus himself befriended people with bad reputations and ill character.

And how many times is this type of behavior encouraged by acts, words or comments from those standing up front talking to the crowd?

 

Christian conduct is based on what you do all the time not the role you claim for an hour or two on Sunday.

 

I still recall the church group at a restaurant right after their worship service and the restaurant was very busy but their treatment to the waitress was extremely rude and borish because "they" were inconvenienced. Interesting too is this group had quite a few church elders and supposed leaders. :sleep:

To those who support abortion and wish to criticize those who are against abortion for what they see as contradictory stances on abortion and the death penalty. Please remember that the death penalty is a precribed method of punishment that has been used for centuries. I do not believe being found guilty of wishing to be born deserves the punishment of death.
