My Gripe With The Pro-Life Community

Featured Replies

I am Pro-Life but I would never ASSUME someone who supports another woman's right to have an abortion is Pro-Abortion. That's a big jump that is based on nothing more than emotions.

Let's say I am supportive of drugs becoming legal in this country. Am I pro-choice or pro-drugs? Am I condoning drug use in this country by supporting the legalization of it?

So it is acceptable to you that over 3500 babies EVERY DAY, let me repeat that, over 3 thousand 5 hundred babies, every day are killed, while we complete the plumbing in the house?

Just to point out in ONE DAY a comparable number of babies are killed than Americans who have been killed in Iraq over the past years of the war.

And yet, I don't see any Democrats horrified about that.

Let say Abortion was outlawed. What do you think our society would look like if this did happen.? I see poverty and kids that have parents that just do not care about them. Men who are not involved in their childs lives, financially or emotionally. Lack of food, no money for heat, or a home.

The Welfare system would explode..

What about forced Birth control until a Women wants to have Children and then it is removed from her. I think that would be a better option in today's society. Then Abortion would not be an issue and neither would unwanted babies.

All of our preaching about 'wait until your married" and use "birth control" are not working. So maybe this is the answer.

It would depend on why you support the legality. If you think that the govt has not business telling us what we can ingest as long as we are not hurting anyone, then you are pro choice. YOU may not want to ingest drugs but you cant fathom the idea of a congressman/woman/Senator telling you what you can and cannot do.

Sound familiar?

Isn't that what we have now with abortion legal?

The Welfare system would explode..

And a problem that we would need to deal with, no doubt.

You have to be kidding me. As a society, we can't tell women to not kill their babies, but you think somehow we, as a soceity, can force them on birth control. Good try getting elected with that plan.

I do equate it with taking of life and murder. Although, presently, I believe that females have boughten into the lie that our society is selling them that it is not taking a life. So, I don't think that we can go from our society telling them it is acceptable to right to "this is murder" and you are going to prison for many years mindset. Thus, my reasoning behind the hard stance on doctors who are performing it and females.

I think that is a PERCEPTION AND NOT REALITY of Christians. I think everyone LOVES to believe that but I don't think it is the true reality of Christians. I think there are a FEW Christians like that, but that is going to happen BECAUSE we are not perfect. Again, your argument is that she will do it because Christians are not perfect like, I guess, she believes we should be. News for her, I am not perfect and I will have improper thoughts, opinions and the like. I am just struggling to do better.

Sorry, to all you guys who expect me and the rest of us Christians to be perfect. We are disappointing you, I know, but we are struggling to do better. Please give us the consideration you rail on us about not having.

In the situations I am in with my job, your scenario has never occurred. They don't want the child because they will have to stay home and give up part of their life to the demands of raising a child.

In fact, I counter that the feminist movement is more to blame. It developed a mindset that women deserved the right to do and accomplish whatever they wish. And some females have taken that to mean that even the children they bore should not and will not stand in their way to living THEIR lives the way they want to live THEIR lives. So, they let grandma raise them, they ignore them and let the kids raise themselves, they are friends to the kid instead of a parent or they abort them.

That is the mindset I see. There is no stigma anymore to being unmarried and pregnant. Heck, you are rewarded for that.

Female goes to college and no kid. Needs 2 or 3 part time jobs to get through school and will still leave with grants and loans.

Female goes to college and has a child and they will have every single penny of their college paid for.

And while that is the way it is, I support helping single mothers benefit themselves.:thumb:

First of all, stop with the "us Christians" as if those of us who differ in opinion are not in the club.

Secondly, you must live in a slice of heaven if you are surrounded by very few people who are judgmental. Don't move if that's the case.

If you think there is not a stigma, you would be incorrect. It has lessened and is more acceptable in general but to A PARTICULAR young girl that stimga is often still there in her mind and is re-enforced to her daily including on Sundays. Heck, we've seen it in this thread.

So, stop with the us vs them and "we're not perfect" stuff. We all know that. Its not part of this debate. The problem is the "I'm not as big a sinner as you, young lady!" mentality by many.

So, commit murder to avoid hypocracy within the church. There's sound logic.

Nobody said it was a logical decision. Just a fact that when a person feels alone and backed into a corner, they will act, sometimes irrationally, to relieve the pressure they're feeling.

So this is the reasoning behind why we as a society should allow abortions. What does this has to do with anything on whether we should allow abortions in this country?

Show me where I said this was a reasoning for allowing/denying it? I was simply explaining the thought process that comes into play that might lead to the unfortunate choice.

Not saying it is not, but why is that relevant?

Seems like it is the old Charles Durning Political two-step from the best little house in texas routine. Intead of addressing the issue, we talk about how bad the Christians are.

Somewhere in this debate I have lost the reasoning behind this point.

Again, you're acting as though I'm justifying the abortion, and I'm not. I'm just saying I understand how a person could progress toward that unfortunate decision. It's relevant because it's just one reason why a person would make that unfortunate choice.

Until judgmental behavior on the issue is shelved in favor of tackling the problem by trying to understand why someone would come to that decision, then coming up with productive solutions, nobody's going to get anywhere. I know it's a cheesy cliche´ but you can attract more flies with honey than vinegar.

On the bolded, same view on child sex predators? Or is it worse to abuse them sexually than have their life stopped.

Quick question for the Pro Life crew, how do you feel on Euthanasia (LBBC, you knew this was coming, didn't you? :D)? I assume you have to be 100% against it, right?

What does someones thinking about a girl who is pregnant have to do with abortion. It is just an excuse for doing the wrong thing. I don't understand how a Christian can not be anti-abortion. I think that is selling God and his plans short.

As for Euthanasia, I have nothing against oriental children.

Who said anything about it being logical? Many bad decisions are made when one is irrational and illogical - just like the girl who has an abortion because of the real or perceived disapproval from her fellow sinners.
