November 2, 200718 yr Author No, dont kill them, their already alive. We can use them as slave labor to help build the new border fence!
November 2, 200718 yr When you look at the title, dont write me off as some crazy, left wing liberal. I am actually a moderate democrat, who is training(undergrad) to become a minister. That being said, my gripe with the PL movement is as follows: It seems that all PL'rs care so much about the baby while its inside the womb. Yet as soon as its born, and quite possibly goes into foster care and becomes a ward of the state, all the people that defended that childs life seem to dissapear. It is odd that the same people that want these babies to be born, dont want to fork over the tax dollars in social welfare programs, so they can have a fighting chance at a successful life. So it is acceptable to you that over 3500 babies EVERY DAY, let me repeat that, over 3 thousand 5 hundred babies, every day are killed, while we complete the plumbing in the house? Just to point out in ONE DAY a comparable number of babies are killed than Americans who have been killed in Iraq over the past years of the war. And yet, I don't see any Democrats horrified about that. Its acceptable :sssh::walk:
November 2, 200718 yr My concern with the hard-liners on the right is that they (I'm generalizing here) send out mixed signals to the single pregnant 18 or 19 year old. While they are rightly saying that abortion is wrong they are also either directly or indirectly giving off the vibe that the single-mother-to-be has a scarlet letter. I just watched a report where they interviewed single pregnant young females and one said that it would be easier to have the abortion than it would be to face the churchgoers with their disapproving looks and comments every Sunday.

Check out what Jesus had to say about children and get back with me on it being acceptable to kill 3500 babies everyday.

You know it would be easier having an abortion than having to inconvenience their lifestyle in the early 20's by RAISING THEIR CHILD. But the bolded, I think is a scapegoat out and not reality. There is all sorts of Christian sponsored programs to HELP out mothers. I think there is one here in NKY called New Hope Women's Center or something like that. Christian based and mother centered to help out. They want something to make them feel good about killing their baby and so they throw out the old judgemental Christian line.

LBBC, if you're trying to tell me that this girl was not going to face people who talk out both sides of their mouth, we'll simply have to disagree. You can have all of the programs you want. It still comes down to a girl being made to feel welcome in the church community (and I don't count a program as being the same). Too many times, the folks in the pews sitting to your left and right (and mine) are not as loving as they proclaim.

November 2, 200718 yr I'm sure God will understand. Murder is justified as long as nobody stares, points and gossips about you.
November 2, 200718 yr I'm sure God will understand. Murder is justified as long as nobody stares, points and gossips about you. No one is saying its justified. I'm trying to point out that the perception among SOME is that they will not be fully welcome within their own church by those that forget to pray humbly and instead are like the prophesies who proclaimed all that they did better than the tax man.

My comment was meant to be sarcastic and wasn't really directed towards you as much as it was the would be minister who seems to feel as if abortion is a reason to :dancingpa

Perhaps, then, the prudent thing to do would be to avoid having sex outside of wedlock.
November 3, 200718 yr Perhaps, then, the prudent thing to do would be to avoid having sex outside of wedlock. No offense, my friend, but that's exactly what the girl is saying. Instead of saying to her "Not an ideal situation but you're still part of the family" she sees/perceives you passing judgment instead. She's obviously wrong to have the abortion IMO but I completely get where she's coming from.
