In regards to academics, I imagine this event will interfere with his ability to get the core requirements necessary to be eligible through the NCAA clearing house which will affect his scholarship. Always sad to see talent being wasted in this manner.

 

A lot of schools have an Alternative School for students that have offenses like this. They continue with their classes but isolated from the regular student body. They are usually ineligible to participate in any extra-cirricular activities but continue to receive credit for their classes.

I'm sure it's just like marijuana, if you have a certain amount then you will be charged with distribution.

One bad decision? Unless this just happened to be the first day the kid ever had crack on him, its not "one bad decision." Its "a bad decision that he got busted for."

Sad times in Scott Co. Bud isn't an angel, but I don't think anyone saw this coming. Bud has had a lot of people reach out to help him in many areas of his life - academically, emotionally, athletically, socially... Yet he always seems to migrate back to trouble. Very sad.

Lineup will almost assuredly be Guyn, Portwood, Hundley, Phares, Lee. I have heard a kid was already in the works of coming back to town a little while back. Could shake things up. Also the other kid who plays some guard, his name escapes me now, could compete for a starting spot over Portwood or Hundley.

Lets not be naive here. If he has an ample amount of drugs be it Mowy Wowy or Crack do you think he is really stockpiling it for rainy days when he wants to get high.

Fair enough. Lets give ALL accused the same level of support then that we're showing this accused criminal. We can't. We love athletes and sports too much to be objective.

Timely opportunity for Guyn.

There was talk this weekend that Jordan Adams may be moving back to Scott Co. (family issues may be resolved; not related to Bud getting in trouble) I would think he would be in the starting line up if this is true.

Guyn has been playing well from what I have heard, but so has long time reserve Marcus Birchfield.

 

I don't think this is at the forefront of anyone's concerns in Scott Co. at this point. SC basketball is family - one of the family is in trouble right now. End of story.

Basketball should be the furthest thing from anyone's mind right now. Let's let the justice system run its course and worry about basketball when the time comes.
