WVU is ranked in the 50's in both the NET and Kenpom. 

Teams like Ohio St 39, Northwestern 45, SMU 47, Indiana 48 and Boise St 50 are all ranked higher than WVU 53 in the Kenpom and didn't get in.

WVU was 6-10 in quad 1 games and 4-3 in quad 2 games. Looking at it Saturday I didn't even consider them.

Just saw a thought from Lunardi, he said that if UNC was 18-2 in the ACC they might have been a #1 seed.

He ain't wrong. 

I think the teams that play in Dayton on Tuesday and Wednesday should be 16 seeds.

If you have to "play-in" to the 64, you don't deserve to be an 11.

RE: Louisville. I agree; they should have been seeded higher based on the eye test alone. But going into the ACC tournament, Lunardi had them as a 7 seed and settled at a 6 seed by Sunday. Teams seldom move during conference tournaments, fair or not. I assume (?) they still apply this rule, but how it used to work was the committee had the right to move a team up one seed line or down one seed line based on geography and available slots. So maybe they were at 7 and got moved to the 8 line? But, those who thought they would be in that 3-5 range were ignoring history. Again, this is not a defense as the system is incredibly flawed. The plus side is UL will practically get a home game against a limping Auburn team. And Bruce Pearl is not exactly a coaching savant, so if UL can get by the first round, I like their chances.

I'm wondering if the sheer number of SEC teams hurt Louisville and some others.  They try to avoid early match-ups with conference foes.  Maybe they had to lower Louisville to avoid SEC vs SEC early.  I dunno, just a thought.

The SEC was the best conference this year. 14/16 teams in the tournament is an absolute joke.

100%. If you are winning six games in the conference, you have no business being in the NCAA tournament. This is the problem of so heavily relying upon metrics to make decisions.

The SEC got in so many teams because of what took place in November and December. Their amazing non-conference record (which can't be ignored) allowed them to bolster their own resumes in conference play, which also meant losses did not count nearly as much as they would in any other conference. While that makes sense on many levels, at some point you have to win games.

I think I agree but I'm not sure who I'd have left out. Probably Texas? Maybe Oklahoma, but those same Sooners did beat Louisville.
