If Cov Cath's schedule wasn't already pretty stacked I would love to see them play Anderson. I think Cov Cath would come away with the W late in the year clicking on all cylinders. But yes that's a risky move that late in the year with the schedule they already have. Taft is kind of hit or miss year in and year out. I don't think Taft will make it as far this year as they did last year they kind of got hot at the end and overachieved which is always cool to see. They always have some great athletes and they also utilize a running qb a lot like Cov Cath. I'd take Cov Cath over Taft but again that would be pushing it for their 10th game. If they slid it into that week 6 bye I think it would be a good prep for Highlands but that would be a very wearing stretch of games weeks 5-8.

CCH can't play Ohio or Indiana for Kentucky week 11 (10th game)... Ohio and Indiana are in playoff week 1 during Kentucky regular season week 11.  If they pick up an opponent for their "10th" game it will have to come from Kentucky.

They wanted a Week 11 game and a Week 6 bye, but it appears they had to opt for a Week 6 opponent from our great Commonwealth instead, and the bye week will take place in Week 11.

Makes sense... even Kentucky Week 6 was going to be tough to go outside the Commonwealth as Ohio and Indiana are usually playing "Conference" games that week.

At Central it is, Week 6.

So what do we know about Central? Are they good, bad, average ? Are they in 4A.

3A District 3, along with CAL, DeSales and Western. They beat 3A state champion CAL during the regular season last year and lost the rematch in the playoffs. In May they graduate 72% of their total 2024 offensive production in runningbacks Cortez Stone, Justin Brents and Avaion Johnson-McNeal, but they are ALWAYS a tough squad, as evidenced by their annual game against 6A Manual, plus 6A St. X, 6A Butler, 6A Bullitt East and Cincy LaSalle all on their schedule last year. I know in 2025 they will at least have games against Manual and St. X prior to playing Cov Cath.

Not the best for KHSAA RPI with the two out of state schools, but I think RPI potential is better with this schedule than last year's due to the new district. They need to get big wins against the top opponents to boost RPI, which is a huge challenge. But if they can get those big wins, they should be competitive in RPI.

I agree!  Amazing schedule for CovCath, is it August yet?

I can personally attest to the fact that the Colonels have ratcheted up the intensity and productivity to their offseason work outs with phenomenal buy-in from the players and better results already obvious and it’s only February.….and we saw the result last year when we dominated Boyle County up front…..a big big year is coming Cov. Cath’s way.
