Gabe Weis played a good amount of snaps as safety #3 last year, so he'll be right back in the mix.

I thought Jason Fedor and Grant Reardon were both good players as well after watching a few freshman/jv games the last two years. I think they'll be in the mix and we'll have more depth than usual. 

I didn't see any rising sophomores talented enough to take snaps away from the above players. 

Looks like recent West Point grad Trey Gronotte (CCH '21) is working with upcoming senior Tanner Robertson on his kicking game. Tanner is son of Cov Cath varsity soccer coach Jeremy Robertson and is also on the soccer team. Logan Zembrodt was kicking last year for the freshman team and had a very nice leg as a freshman. He was moved up to varsity after the freshman season ended.

Tanner's kickoff in Gronotte's tweet looks solid - nice and high, decent hang-time. I wonder if this will be another year for the Colonels with one kicker handling kickoff duties and a different kicker handling PAT/FG duties.

With 2 out of state opponents this year, it is my belief that even with an undefeated regular season, the Colonels have no way of grasping the #1 in RPI, and will likely be traveling playoff week 3 and beyond, therefore playing a team for a nice RPI resume builder is almost useless. 

Elder is going to be a huge test for them. Especially in the trenches.

100% play both ways. He’s got a better shot of being recruited as a DB than he does a QB. 

I was told CovCath has a pretty good Freshman. Can't wait to see how he does.

The Freshman team in general is outstanding as they were the Big Schools GCYL CHAMPS as 8th graders last year basically obliterating almost every team accept for one…..care to share the player….there a ton of good ones on that Squad.

And we will beat Elder in the Pit as we are going to be unreal upfront in both sides of the ball

Ok.  If He is already there and on the team what’s His name so we all can enjoy watching Him ball.  I have not heard of any new additions yet….this isn’t a Bond movie.  No need for cloak and dagger.  Summer practice has started for everyone so let’s start celebrating everyone.

Brandon Smith played for Union Jags middle school. Looks like a big kid that is very athletic!

Great addition by Cov Cath and great decision by the Smith family. Someone I was recently discussing freshman basketball with just informed me of him being at Cov Cath as well as a few other good athletes. Smith is a stud and good on the hardwood too. He is one of the one's I was expecting to be in Ft. Thomas this year.

This is good to hear for sure.  Measurables?  Position?  Any other newly adds studs/players you care to elaborate on?

I was told 6'2 190 he has been training at D1. Will be interesting to see how he does.

@MaddenCurse44is correct an I think he will keep filling that frame out well and possibly grow a little more. He has played a little bit of all skill positions. Most recently WR and Saftey. I could see him fitting in well at LB and TE also. Moves very well for his size with good ball skills. He is a gym rat and work-aholic. Another new one I heard was Jamir Kirkley from Turkeyfoot. Doesn't have the measurables like Smith right now size wize. He is a good 2 sport athlete who in 3, maybe 2 years will be a solid contributor for the Colonels.
