Now that Hoops is over for CCH and those players will join workouts this week or next, anyone in the know want to take a crack at rattling off the starters for the fall….cannot wait for August.

Not in the know anymore, but here's my best guess as to who will replace the six pretty quality starters that graduated. It's hard to beat out any entrenched starter.

WR - Oliver Link out - either Sr. Donovan Bradshaw or Jr. Mac Cogswell

C - Mason Dietz out - either Sr. Ryan Haas or Jr. Colin Vinson

LT - Drew Huber out - my guess is Jonny Lind to LT and So. Landon Robinson to RT. 

LB - Tate Kruer out - either So. Cash Myers or So. Evan Link. Probably a tandem. I thought Link was better at the beginning of the year and got varsity time, but Meyers is bigger, a better athlete and has a lot of 'dog' in him. I'd lean Myers, I thought he was much better in the freshman championship. 

LB/Nickel - Andrew Bessler out - Jr. Jackson Payne. He played a lot last year in sub packages and was productive.

DE - Nick Krallman out - I don't know? Maybe seniors like Tucker Evans, Charlie Reeves or Mitchell Woolf getting more snaps on defense. This is a pretty big hole to fill and a big question. 

K/P: Not sure either. Another massive question. 

I'm assuming Logan Zembrodt will be kicker this year. He was brought up to varsity last year once the freshman season ended. He was very reliable on PAT'S and his kickoffs were decently long with nice hang time, and they occasionally even resulted in touchbacks....which says a lot for a freddy.

I expect to see a lot out of Logan Sanning and Brady Guard on defense this year as well. They were definitely leaders among the junior class last year.

Hoping to see some nice development made on the line from Charlie Reeves and Kyle Collins too.

Logan, Johnny Lind, and Brady would be by far my breakout returning players that will take massive leaps forward…….watch specifically for the massive improvement at WR for Logan and at DE for Lind as I expect Lind to eventually become a possible top 5 DE in the state before He graduates in 2 years

Landon Robinson, Jackson Payne and Charlie Reeves are my expected breakout stars new to the lineup this year as they will have an immediate and high impact….and yes, I expect to see Link get very meaningful playing time from game one as I think it be hard to keep Him off the field.

Cash Meyer is the X Factor as I thought He had a slow start to the season, but then around the 3rd/4th His engine kicked and whoa buddy He started lighting it up…..He brings that in August He is a starter for sure….I’ll be interested to see what Cash is like after 4-5 months of full varsity workouts….

Outside of Cash and Dylan, watch for Owen Pitzer and the Brooks kid to absolutely shine nearly as bright as they are the 4 headed beast that will lead this team….those 4 will be very very special before the year is out…..and yea, I know what you are thinking, “really went out on a limb here and took some risks”?….do not care as I cannot wait for August….

I'm really curious to see how Eddie uses Dylan Courtney this year. I'm assuming he's going to move exclusively into QB role to take over in '26 after Harney has graduated. But he was such a strong athlete as a freshman...I still have to wonder if he isn't going to see play anywhere else on the field too, and if so, if that will have him showing up more on the varsity level rather than just exclusively as the JV/varsity backup quarterback.

I have no idea. I could be entirely wrong, but I believe the football team generally doesn't open anything aside from their scrimmages and games to the public.

Anything at CovCath is always "open to the public" because of the surrounding neighborhood.

If this part of the spring work out then yes, it is generally open to the public and parents are encouraged to come.
