Sounds good. Even with the 2026 4A champs in the same district, you won't mind if CovCath plays the season out anyway?

Yeah...maybe. Highlands will be better up front, but Cov Cath has some good size and talent working its way up as juniors and sophomores. 

Going in Cov Cath's favor would be:

- A better coaching staff, especially since the QB run game got modernized last year. Highlands has a good staff though. 

- Harney and Gaiser will touch the ball 40+ times in every big game. While Highlands has some good players, those guys are better and more explosive than what they will be rolling out there.

Highlands throws it better, but Litmer turned it over three times in the game last year when he was asked to do extremely little. They lose two really good receivers from 24 the team, are they going to be better throwing it this year? 

I see it as a toss up. 

I was at the football banquet last night and heard a certain team from Indianapolis may be on the schedule this year.

Drop Holmes and Campbell add Elder and Cathedral along with Highlands, Ryle and Beechwood and suddenly things get really interesting.

Elder's schedule currently shows us playing at The Pit on Aug 29, Dixie's schedule currently shows them playing at Cov Cath on Sep 12, Highlands' schedule shows us playing at Highlands on Oct 3, and Cathedral's schedule currently shows them playing at Cov Cov Cath on Oct 10th.

That means:
- Elder replaces the Highlands slot in the last cycle with Highlands moving into our district in 4A.

We aren't playing Holmes with Holmes dropping out of district competition, and I was told Campbell County opted to drop us from their schedule, so even with the additions of Elder & Cathedral I know we're still looking for at least one more game.

So is it Cathedral or Bishop Chatard from Indy?  I know we played Chatard a couple times back in 2018-2019.

What a schedule! It's almost a shame they have to play the district games honestly.

It is a great schedule and I am sure CCH would love to add a 10th game if the "right" team was available to play.

- Really fun schedule for everyone involved. A lot more competitive games than recent years.

- Scheduling Cathedral with Elder is probably a little aggressive, but I don't fault Eviston or Tony B as it looks like we've had some difficulty getting games on the schedule. That's like adding 2 GCL South teams plus Ryle and Highlands are up and really big on the lines. I hope our bigs and TE/LB group are training hard this off-season because those are going to be tough.   

- While I worry about depth and numbers, especially on the line of scrimmage, we'll have probably four straight weeks of running clocks or a bye before round 2 of the playoffs to get healthy. No disrespect to Harrison and Mason County.
