  1. I think Indiana does something like that. But I know schools can request to play up a class. I know there was one year that Highlands played up in 5A even though by enrollment they are a 4A school.
  2. If you’re at a D1 school, 9/10 you’ll always find a new home whether you’re moving up or you’re moving. You’ll end up somewhere. It’s those D2/D3 kids that have nothing but practice film that stay in the portal. They enter with the intent of trying to move up and everything ends up falling through. College coaches do not care about practice film. They wanna see game film.
  3. Yeah. If you’re on roster at a D1 Power 5 school. 9/10 you’re going to get picked up by somebody.
  4. That’s fair! But it’ll go a lot further at a public university in Kentucky than a private school in Michigan
  5. He’s prolly paying minimal out of pocket. Helps that he has really good grades and high test scores so he’s gonna get a lot of KHEAS money and Depending on his FAFSA, he may even qualify to get Pell.
  6. Louisville is not throwing NIL $ to a walk on. They got guys they are prioritizing.
  7. He may have to pay a little bit out of pocket. But it’s prolly way less than Hillsdale.
  8. Smart move on his part. Wouldn’t surprise if he’s heading there as a PWO. Louisville currently has 7 QB on roster and 7 TEs on roster and they have a 4 star QB coming in. I'm sure he saw his offer breakdown at Hillsdale and realized that it would be cheaper for him to go Walk On at Louisville than be on scholarship, especially with him being a really good student. Hillsdale starting QB and backup are returning. Most likely would’ve been a scout team player up there. He’s better off going to UL and being a scout team player there than Hillsdale. I see him being at Louisville for a year or two and then he’ll enter the portal.
  9. Yeah. If they’ve only applied the Conner job. The chances of them staying is pretty high. Now if they’ve been putting out applications to other schools, chances of them staying is slim to none.
  10. Oh yeah! Usually when a new HC comes in, he usually retains most of the coaches from the previous staff. So the assistant coaches that are running workouts right now will prolly be on staff next season.
  11. Plus they’ll have 6 months to get their OL situation figured out. Get the young guys in the weight room and working on the field as well!
  12. While missing a month is not a good look. It is not the end of all things. They still have 6 months to get these guys bigger faster stronger.
  13. Anybody can draw up a workout program. It’s not hard, I mean you can even find a workout program on the internet. But being strength and conditioning coach is not just making a workout program, it’s making sure guys aren’t getting hurt when they’re lifting and more importantly are reinforcing the standards that the coaches are setting and are not allowing the kids to get cut corners.
  14. Yeah. He is probably taking some time off coaching and going to focus on his new principal job.
  15. I doubt it. It’s hard to balance being a principal and a head football coach. Especially when it’s 2 different schools in two different states. It wouldn’t surprise me if he took sometime off of coaching or if he ends up on the Highlands staff.
  16. That is probably because nobody is opening up about it.
  17. OL is going to be extremely young. But they have a whole offseason to get these young guys in the weight room and get them bigger faster and stronger. Highlands is going to be alright.
  18. Yeah. Coach Brown is extremely happy at Cov Cath. Don’t see him leaving there anytime soon. I can see New Cath giving Eviston a call though. Word on the street is a lot of people are fed up with him. Some players are threatening to not returns if he’s back as HC. Returning to New Cath wouldn’t be a bad move. Gets to coach ball and not have the pressure he has had at Cov Cath.
  19. He’s also the principal at Lickert so trying to balance both is a challenge. Especially if something were to take place in the school,
  20. That is the plan. I heard they wanted to put it right by the weight room. Just comes down to money. Recently put in new turf so it might be a few years before they make it official.
  21. I have a feeling it’s Adam Heidrich. He’s current the DC rn at Newport. He was the DC at Scott a few years back after he left MSJ.
  22. I mean he’s risking injuries playing offense too. If he’s playing other sports he’s risking injury. IMO, if a players a valuable, you’d want him on the field at all times. Only exception I make is Special Teams. But other than that. He should play both offense and defense.
  23. I agree. There has to be a whole lot of injuries that has to take place for him to play. Being a walk on today's college game is not the same as it was 5 years ago. He's not only competing against the current guys on roster, but he is also compositing against the transfer portal. With the DI schools having a 105-roster limit, his roster spot at UK can be gone at any moment. The portal opens up in January; Even though he's currently committed as of right now, UK can tell him we no longer have a spot for him and does not have to honor his commitment.
  24. I agree with you. In our eyes, if you’re good enough teams will find you. But these parents on the other hand are not thinking like we are. They’re thinking I’ll send my kids to a school like Highlands and I’ll get more exposure that way and the D1 will come calling.
  25. It depends. If you are talking D1, then yes. With his current size, he'd have to run a low high 4.3 or low 4.4 40 to get their attention. But as far as D2/D3/NAIA goes, them coaches would have been all over him!
