I don't ever remember saying I was "entitled" enough to know. I simply stated it is unfortunate that we may never know. I think everyone would agree that getting a statement from CCH would be beneficial to this scenario and potentially help shed some light on the situation but I also realize they do not have to do so and are apparently choosing not to do so.

Also, this is a public forum where we discuss things happening in the community. You replied to my comment and engaged in the conversation while also telling people to give it a rest. You are more than welcome to give it a rest by not replying to the thread any longer.

From a complete outsider's perspective, having no dog in the fight whatsoever:

- Publicly announcing the induction of anyone into a Hall of Fame and then rescinding it should warrant an explanation, private school or not. This doesn't necessarily have to be public, but if the Ruthsatz' are to be believed, even they do not know why the change occurred. 

- There's clearly a disconnect regarding Scott not coaching at CCH anymore, and I think it's obvious that the reasoning behind that decision and the Hall of Fame induction are related. 

- I can empathize with Nick's position considering he thinks his dad was done wrong, but he's only making himself and their family look bad at this point, IMO. It seems extremely unlikely that he/they are going to get an explanation that they would be satisfied with. Going at the school/diocese publicly is CLEARLY not the path, but he keeps beating the horse. 

- Going about this while your little brother is currently on the team is WILD to me. Talk about creating a negative environment. He may be in the worst spot of anyone. I feel bad for him. 

Another post just dropped, sounds like the Diocese is meeting with Coach and Nick soon. Nick said he wouldn’t comment on the situation until it happens, but he seems happy that there’s a chance they could get some clarity. 

I have to hand it to Nick, in a way. I had considered this done and over with and thought that was an awful look at that point, but he has persisted and hopefully will get some answers.

I agree. Early on I was critical of the way that he handled this, and still think he went about it the wrong way. However, he is apparently getting what he wanted which was to hear from or talk to the diocese. Hopefully, the sit down or whatever occurs gives some closure to the family.

I'm pretty sure the list with Bryan's name on it was produced by the Diocese as requirement put forth by the court system in the clergy abuse scandal settlement process. Koplyay is the head of HR and personnel for the Diocese so his name would have been attached to that list in some way, but the list itself was assembled by consultants from the FBI who were brought in to review all Diocesan files and establish who did and who didn't have substantiated abuse claims against them. So yeah you can link the list to Koplyay but that's because there was a court order that said Diocesan HR had to produce the list and he was the man in charge of HR.

Sounds like the Ruthsatz's are going to meet with someone and get some answers, according to the last post.

That is a cool video and quote. "Nolan against the world" in the video...Good for that young man to focus on basketball and winning. 

 

Ironic that the Ruthsatz' family success on the basketball court, ultimately, is what drove us into this mess. Would still be great to find out:

1) who is behind the alleged May meeting with "2 women at the top of the Diocese" that led to Scott's decision to resign

2) who is behind the rescinding of the HOF induction, AFTER CovCath announced it

 

My guess, FWIW, is a parent or group of parents who were upset their son wasn't talented enough (their words would probably be 'wasn't given an opportunity') to play during his 13 undisputed successful seasons.
