I find irony in a devout Catholic family begging for transparency from the Catholic Church!  If the church has taught us anything over the last 3 decades or more, they’ve taught us transparency is not a strong suit! 
 

Edit: This was not meant to get under the skin of the Catholics on here. I am Catholic.  Just pointing out the history of lack of transparency and knowing what we know about other far more serious situations the thought they are going to be transparent about something as trivial as a high school sports hall of fame decision is quite comical.

You point out lack of transparency of the church. Their family calls them out asking for clarity on their decision. 

 

Now it’s the families fault because they should assume the church will do the unjust thing… what world do you live in?

The point you obviously don’t get is because the hall of fame is such a small thing & the diocese was STILL pressured… prompting to make the decision to not let him in 9 days away.

Pressured on a HOF. Whats next?
 

Nick Sandmann doesn’t comment on the diocese/ school for many years & comes out saying this. 

Then you add in “I’m Catholic” to try to add an ounce of credibility. The people reading this can read the energy this  comment above has in it. Like the type of person who is afraid to stand up for themselves. You would rather be a pawn & be quiet because the catholic church told you too. 
 

 

 

 

I guess I never experienced the Diocese being vindictive and coming after parishoners growing up. Of course where I went to school (1-12th grade) it didn't seem like the diocese even knew we existed.

 

Seriously though, what is the end game for the family? Is it to put the coach into the HOF, get people from the school in trouble or someone from the diocese in trouble?

Clarity & Accountability seems to be the theme.

If the bishop made the decision. Then a simple breakdown of what Scott did wrong. 
 

If he didn’t make the decision why did Covcath lie? 
 

When someone says the “bishop” wouldn’t let someone do something you would think its a serious offense.
 

Parents going directly to the diocese complaining about playing time & hurt feelings. This is who the diocese sided with… 

 

Almost like they’ve used we “were bullied & pressured” before LOL

You are blinded by your anger and  missing the point!  I would say that someone promoting views/clicks with this much energy in a battle against the church should choose a battle that affects more than one family.  
 

The bishop is never going to give you or Nick  the time of day or satisfaction to think you or Nick  won by him making a statement.    Bob and Tony or anyone else at CCH aren’t going to say anything while employed by the diocese. Sorry if I’m a pawn and realize nothing is going to change in regards to transparency especially over an issue like Hall of Fame  because we will all keep eating our fish on Friday’s, dropping envelopes on Sundays and writing checks for tuition.   
 

I think many/most non Colonel Catholics were hoping there was something juicy here.  The only thing that we’ve come to realize is to confirm our suspicions that Scott’s press release in regard to stepping down was a charade.   

I got a question. Probably a bad one. How is the Ruthsatz that is on the team at CCH this year related to Scott?

Geeeez. Has to be a wierd situation for him to be around in some type of way. I am sure his family and also everyone apart of CCH has done their best to keep him out of this so I am sure that makes it alot easier on him, but still. Managing to focus on academics and athletics is already challenging enough with normal day to day distractions, can't imagine what it would be like throwing this in to the mix. Obviously he has a strong support system his family seems to really support each other so I am sure someone calculated him into the equation and how it would effect him when all of this came up. Lots of respect for the young fella and best of wishes for him and all of his endeavors.

Yes, he is a grown man, but its probably hard on Scott too as he attends CCH games simply as a parent, something he hasn't been able to do for the last 13 years. But now, people approach him all the time asking about this particular situation. 

 

Still waiting for SOMEONE (CCH, Diocese) to explain why Scott Ruthsatz, the all-time winningest coach in school history, who won 82% of his game in 13 seasons, won 2 of the only 4 state championships ever won by an NKY school (1981 Simon Kenton, 2014 CCH, 2018 CCH, 2021 Highlands) is not being admitted to the CCH Hall of Fame.

Am I crazy? Since when do you count from the oldest down to claim “youngest”…. He has 1 brother younger than him, he’s the second youngest.

Unfortunately, you are probably going to continue to wait. I have no knowledge of the situation at all and am simply stating my opinion as CCH or the Diocese does themselves zero favors by commenting. They don't have to do so nor should anyone expect them to do so.

You're right - 2nd youngest or 3rd oldest. Senior moment on my part this morning.

You're correct, they don't have to, but after publicly announcing the Ruthsatz's induction, and then privately pulling it....It would, in my opinion, be the right thing to do. 

 

Perhaps its rhetorical, but what even is the point of a Hall of Fame if the all-time winningest coach can't be inducted? Will the 2014 or 2018 teams ever get inducted, or will CCH try to erase them like they are Ruthsatz?

Response from Scott’s wife for all those alluding to him being forced out or any excuse outside of him personally resigning.
