Strange to me, that even if 20 players were actual "victims" of "verbal abuse" (more like hard coaching / unequal playing time, in my opinion), that even though basketball is a team sport and Virtus requirements dictate multiple coaches or people present in high school athletics program, that the other 180+ players to play at CCH in 13 seasons haven't come forward about it. 
 

In my opinion, the supposed 20 players were likely not starters on the 2014 or 2018 teams. Just speculation.

At this point I don't know what is worse, the Bishop/Diocese having multiple "victims" come forward and not doing complete/full investigations or the Bishop/Diocese not being truthful about the scope and findings of the investigations.

After I made the original post, my source corrected me and told me it was up to 20 "parents and former players" that came forward, which means its probably was less than 20 'victims.'

 

Still don't understand an investigation for allegations that would have had to occur with dozens of witnesses around.

Right, either way and even if it was only 3 "victims", all the same points are valid.

Victim blaming, a staggering lack of transparency, failing the community of people that feed their coffers, laughable "internal investigations" that are really nothing more than teams of sycophants lifting the carpet so leadership can deposit the dirt/TRUTH under it, turning a blind eye to major problems that negatively impact CHILDREN...and on and on and on and on. 

Does any of this really surprise anyone at this point? I think we've seen plenty of evidence over the last 75-100 years that would point to "same ole, same ole".

As a life long member of the Diocese of Covington, since baptism, nothing they do that’s negative, surprises me. I never felt the Bishop truly embraced my Parish or grade school and Junior High. Now that I’m older and hear from others, many feel the same way and we all came from different socioeconomic backgrounds. If we (My parish) could help out the Diocese, awesome, if we needed help, well we will have to see if we have any money.

Only update I’ve seen is the Ruthsatz fam just put their home on the market. 

Ruthsatz family did put their home on the market....expect an improvement in the already strong Columbus, OH area for HSBB. 

 

Fascinating, that after all this - CCH/Diocese have still successfully evaded any responsibility/accountability for what they did: announcing their [CCH's] All-Time Winningest Coach into the HOF, then quietly rescinding the invitation with no public explanation or justification. 

 

Had Nick not taken a stand and sought justice for his father, perhaps this whole thing would have been swept under the rug. I'm not sure which outcome is better.

I have looked under some rocks, read a tea leaf or two, and chatted up a couple of people.  I don't have anything to add today but I am preparing to give an update on 4/20.
