Final. This was by far the worst the team has looked so far this season. The good thing Coach Pope has 10 days to get in some quality practice time before the Cats next game on 12/31 vs. Brown.

I was afraid after Ohio State got curb stomped last week that they'd come out hot tonight.

Need to get back to better offensive sets, too much one on one today. I'd bet less than 25% of their shots came from actual sets or plays.

This cannot be the same Ohio State team that Auburn beat last weekend by 38 points.  Just thinking if Auburn > then OS by 38, and OS > then Ky by 20 then is it mathematically sound to conclude Auburn > Ky by 58?

I am enjoying this team for the most part but they are not quite good enough to beat a good team on a cold shooting night.

If we’re being real, 10-2 is probably better than UK deserves at this point, but many are getting caught up in the hysteria. Good teams don’t continually find themselves down double digits. That’s great UK has battled back and won a couple of these games, but it is not a good long-term indicator.

Best thing that has happened to this team all season, wake up call for all these guys, have to finish at the rim as they probably missed 20 shots at the 5 foot mark, have to contain much better in man defense and the rebounding on both ends must drastically improve.

Ugh that was ugly. I know a lot of people have had things to say about UKs defense the last few years. I’m surprised we haven’t seen more about it this year. Currently UK is ranked 80th in defensive efficiency and in the 200s in scoring defense. Which is surprising considering Pope did bring in 3 defensive player of the year players this year.

Our defense will get better, and our coach does have the ability to change defenses which is a great improvement from previous years, zone defenses and full court pressure are very pleasant to see.

Pleasant to see and changing defenses  doesn’t necessarily means it’s better defense. Which the numbers don’t support right now either. Hopefully it does get better though.
