Yep! That is what football is supposed to be like! Even though the two games so far haven’t been that competitive. Give me this everyday over bowl games.

It's because these games have meaning and a purpose. Sure the big bowl games had tradition and were meaningful because of the old conference affiliations and it was a chance to see matchups you normally didn't see. But I'll take games that mean something over tradition any day of the week. And while we are going to see some blowouts, bigger playoffs will end most of the talk about teams not getting a chance to play for a national title. I have to say that I enjoyed seeing Indiana and SMU get  beat up and now not being forced to hear how they deserved a chance.

Probably more doors now than in the past with all the sports & conference networks.

NIU vs Fresno State was a fun game to watch.

In OT NIU ran a Jet Sweep WR Pass for a TD on their first pass of 2nd OT. Then on the 2-point conversion they ran a Jet left with a reverse and WR pass back to QB for the conversion. 

They ended the game four plays later with a deep loss sack of the Fresno QB.

Currently watching Pitt vs. Toledo and it is in its 6th OT with Toledo leading 48-46. Pitt has to convert its next two point conversion to send it to a 7th OT.

Toledo wins it in 6 OT's 48-46.

I love football but I can't, no other bowl games, no thank you.

If I see a bowl game on I might watch for a bit.  I'm not making plans to watch any that's for sure.

As for the portal window, they need to be admitted and enrolled prior to spring semester.  I suppose they could push it back a bit, but schools have different semester start times.  

 

After those three games yesterday, who can actually say that the entertainment value wasn’t there?? Really?? I watched all three in entirety, and loved them!!

It all comes down to money. This is the equivalent of an FCS school coming to play an FBS school in a "money game." As long as they have the sponsor dollars to make these bowl games viable and the schools are getting back X amount of dollars, these pointless (?) bowl games will continue. And again, it has been like this for some time.
