Hergs knocked the crap out of me a few times in practice.

Everyone on the team probably has a couple of those stories.

Yeah but I believe Beechwood has better Football players.

Even when Beechwood isn't the more talented team, their well earned reputation for superior preparation and execution can carry them to victory over bigger, faster opponents.  But when those elem

Question for the Beechwood fans (or anyone who knows the answer).

How many championship games will this make for Beechwood Offensive Coordinator Greg Hergott?

I think it may be #14 combined as a player and coach.

I think  Greg told me he has 11 or 13 rings as a player and coach! I don’t remember! I forget a lot of things these days! ???

Beechwood has been slept on the last 3/4 of the season. I’m kind of looking at them this season like the Chiefs always look. It’s like “hey man we have been here and done this a million times, just see us in the playoffs when we start to actually play!” Beechwood is super talented and just has winning in its DNA. Beechwood wins this game for sure.

I am surprised Dereon Crowe isn’t being talked up more for Owensboro Catholic. Kid is listed at 6’2 210 and he is a big time athlete! Plays physical and with a lot of heart. Crowe transferred over from Owensboro Senior High and according to the KHSAA sight had 49 catches for 901 yards receiving. 21 catches went for TD’s. Plus he probably rushed for another 300-400 yards and scored TD’s on the ground as well. At one time he was committed to FCS school Illinois State. Not sure if he still intends to go there but he is a very good player that OCHS will move around a lot on offense and defense.

I think he’s the X factor for the Aces. Just my opinion. The Aces win or lose starting with Crowe. Maybe the most underrated player in Western KY. They don’t beat Owensboro without Crowe. Atwell is no doubt the most important piece to the Aces offense. But Crowe is the most important 2 way player laying big hits on defense and busting big plays on offense consistently. Needs to touch the ball a minimum of 10 times in this game. Good luck bringing him down in open space.

I think Brandon Berger and Greg are the top 2 best players to ever come out of Beechwood! I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure Brandon is the only Beechwood player to ever play In MLB or any other Pro sports!

For anyone interested, we are going to be joined by Owensboro Catholic Head Coach Jason Morris along with Brady Atwell and Vince Carrico on tonight's radio show.  The interviews will start around 10-15 minutes after 5 central time.  You can listen here... https://1027thegame.com/player/?playerID=2947

The show goes to iTunes and Spotify directly following the episode.  Just search "Live at 5"

I can’t wait!  I am one of the few people who can say that I have been to every Beechwood state game and will certainly not miss this one.  Does anyone know if we will be allowed to tailgate?  As I remember, in the past we weren’t allowed in the parking lot until maybe an hour before the game.

How many rings does Brandon have? He has to be at 10 or more?

If the Aces win, Atwell, is your likely MVP recipient, but the degree of Crowe's two way impact probably swings this game one way or the other more so than anyone else.

The O-Cath secondary is going to be up against it with Beechwood's depth at receiver, and Crowe may be relied upon heavily for run support if Carrico can't go.

He'll be stretched more thin than any player on the field for either team, imo.

Beechwood is gonna have a huge tent set up to tailgate in green lot!

Hergott and Berger both have 13 rings.

Hergott 4 as a player and 9 as a coach.

Berger 2 as a player and 11 as a coach.

Both of them will be in their 17th state title game on Friday.

Dang. That's impressive. Interesting Story. Beechwood beat Travis Atwell in 1999 and he got Mr. Football that year. Does Brady Atwell get revenge?

Good Story line....

From Kentucky Sports Radio,

“If Beechwood wins it would be the 13th time out of the last 14 years that either Beechwood or Mayfield won a state football title. “

Oh, and their prediction for the game?
