You are good ... spell check is boring anyway! With that said, ... if you truly think it will be a barn burner .... then you agree more with me than you are willing to say.

My only point is this ...O Cath is 14-0 and has passed every test. They have played against fast, athletic teams. O Cath is the real deal (I am a Beechwood guy until I die -- both of these teams can beat the other). To dismiss the teams that O Cath has played as not as fast or athletic or both is a road that doesn't need to be followed. LCA dismissed our guys a few years ago and look what happened ... that's all I am getting at.

Good luck to both teams and I hope both play their best games and let the chips fall where they may.

I must say. I believe O Cath schedulers have done a nice job with their scheduling kinda playing the RPI system too. They do play some 6A and 5A schools, but not very competitive ones. But those higher classes get you more points in the RPI regardless of their win percentage although that does help too. It doesn’t really matter who had the toughest schedule and all that. You can’t win if you’re not in the dance, and O Cath has done a good job of getting there. Now it’s anyone’s ballgame. I will take Beechwood though. They’ve been there and done it. The stage isn’t too big for them.

I never did say they weren’t good or athletic. Actually I have been hearing all year long OC can’t be beat! They will be the favorites no doubt! Beechwood’s rich tradition or their past 17 state titles won’t mean a thing in this game!

Seriously, pretty sure I know what speed looks like and who has it. You are missing the point. Meaning O Cath plays  North Hardin -- they had 2 guys at 11.08 or faster at the AAA state championship last year (Erdman obviously ran a faster 100 and 200). North Hardin had 2 guys running 22's in the 200 last year. Owensboro always has multiple fast guys as well.

Guess what? O Cath beat North Hardin like a drum. And beat Owensboro as well. They have seen athletes and speed.

In 2020 and 2021 there were a ton of people who thought LCA had more and better athletes. Heck, Beechwood was 14-0, gave up only 86 points going into the game and still picked by most to lose. What happened? The team with the perceived athlete advantage lost. 

O Cath has been #1 all year and has taken care of their business. I can assure you they didn't get here by being unaware of speed and great athletes.

Beechwood has great dudes, athletes, fast guys. But to say O Cath hasn't seen any other fast teams is factually incorrect and it isn't subjective. 

Agreed, speed alone doesn't win a title. But nothing in your post changes my mind that O Cath has seen a team with as much speed as Beechwood. 

And having a great athlete with the size and talent of Atwell doesn't win a title either. 

I expect a great game. These teams look pretty evenly matched if you go by their resumes. SOS is even. Scoring is even. Should be a a high scoring, exciting game.

I have thought this has been the year for Owensboro Catholic to win since the beginning of the season. After Beechwood beat LCA how they did, I’m not so sure. I believe that OC has the best player who will be on the field in Atwell, he’s one of the state’s best players altogether. I also think that Beechwood has the better team overall, which is why I’m changing my pick to Beechwood. Good luck to both teams in what should be a very good state championship football game.

I don’t think OC will be favorites at all, I know we’re just a bunch of adult fans of high school football here, but the poll is 51-19 in favor of beechwood as of right now.

The Aces need this victory, a lot of empty trips to the Championship but this one could be different, I’m sure this isn’t the first time they’ve heard that. For me I think the teams are evenly matched, and the golden rule when you run into this situation is who has the better Quarterback. No slight to Hayden but Atwell may be the best in the State and they’ll need him at his peak performance to beat this Beechwood team.

Voting is 53-20 and I was shocked as I was going through the thread that some believe this one won’t even be competitive.

OK, just read through the whole thread. I saw one poster say 2-3 TD win for Beechwood and there is the post you quoted above. Three posters have score predictions posted in the thread and all three pick Owensboro Catholic, including your prediction of a 2 TD win for O Cath. The poll may be lopsided but the posts in the thread say competitive game.
