I am surprised Dereon Crowe isn’t being talked up more for Owensboro Catholic. Kid is listed at 6’2 210 and he is a big time athlete! Plays physical and with a lot of heart. Crowe transferred over from Owensboro Senior High and according to the KHSAA sight had 49 catches for 901 yards receiving. 21 catches went for TD’s. Plus he probably rushed for another 300-400 yards and scored TD’s on the ground as well. At one time he was committed to FCS school Illinois State. Not sure if he still intends to go there but he is a very good player that OCHS will move around a lot on offense and defense.

  • And possibly the greatest all around football player to ever suit up for Beechwood.  D1 QB and made almost every tackle on defense as a LB.

Yeah but I believe Beechwood has better Football players.

Even when Beechwood isn't the more talented team, their well earned reputation for superior preparation and execution can carry them to victory over bigger, faster opponents.  But when those elem

Yes thanks for giving him some pub...I mentioned him some where in this thread along with Atwell their SIZE and athleticism could cause problems for the smaller DB of Beechwood.....these 2 athletes are BEAST based on size and speed...keep your eye on them in this game once they hit the BW secondary...

Sure, Beechwood has "been there and done it".  As a program they've won 17 State Championships.  But, Owensboro Catholic was in the finals just last season. How many of Beechwood's starters played major roles on their title team in 2022?  The Aces were there last season.  The environment shouldn't overwhelm them or the stage be too big.  I would say that the Aces starters actually have more experience on that stage than the Tigers.  That's not to say that I think the OCHS will win, but experience on a big stage won't be a deciding factor for either team.

Six Beechwood seniors played and contributed in the state title win in 2022. Hayden was the starting QB in that game and Flaherty the starting RB in that game. So Beechwood has won a title with Hayden at QB.

Also, this will be the third time these seniors have been in the title game. Beechwood adds their freshmen to their varsity roster in the playoffs. That means the juniors on the roster have also been in uniform for a state champion.

For half the Beechwood players, Friday will be been there, done that and many of them have champion's rings to show for it.

Thank you for putting their schedule up, but to many on here, BW has a far more superior schedule and OC has no chance.

Just glancing at it, I think maybe Beechwood's schedule is a little better but like VoR just said, I call baloney, the #1 ranked Aces are the favorite.

I respect people's opinion.  I say the schedules are similar.  But is it what it is.  I am hoping that both teams compete and injury free.

I think they are similar too and I definitely respect everyone's opinion, especially on BGP.

Of course on injury free, injury free for all, all the time.

Question for the Beechwood fans (or anyone who knows the answer).

How many championship games will this make for Beechwood Offensive Coordinator Greg Hergott?

I think it may be #14 combined as a player and coach.

This game thus far is getting thr most write ups and for good cause...another week of anticipation for a good game but this one is for all the MARBLES...

I thought he committed to Illinois State? Why would he keep looking around?

The Schedules are similar. I stand by my predictions before the playoffs. 4 weeks of running clocks and Catholic winning by 2-3 TDs in the Championship game. I was wrong last week Catholic vs. Somerset really concerned me with Catholic only winning by 13. Somerset wasn't the team they had last year at ALL and Catholic I know isn't either, but I still say Catholic wins by 2-3 TDs. Good Luck and GO ACES!!!!!!

Not dreaming just standing by my prediction. I was wrong last week though vs Somerset.
