We would also have to add to this the what if the Bengals win and the Bills lose this coming weekend, both teams would be 12-4.  I don't know who would have the tiebreaker but as a Bengals fan if it is not us then I think that also calls for playing the game after the regular season and pushing the playoffs back.

The initial story is over.  ESPN now has to milk this for as long as they can for viewer numbers.  That way Disney can demand an additional $3 per subscriber next go round.

ESPN and the NFL Network were running non-stop coverage all morning and into the early afternoon today with the only update being the game is not immediately being played and there is no change in the schedule for week 18.

We all realize it is a huge story but with no updates I wish they would all ramp it down. It puts all the broadcasters in impossible situation repeating the same talking points over and over and if you stray, like Bart did, you potentially ruin your career.

Did you listen to the clip? I'm sorry, but I don't see Bart Scott "blaming" Higgins for what happened. He was simply explaining what happened and that he expects the NFL to be more vigilant in enforcing offensive players lowering their helmet. Not sure I've ever heard of Dov Kleiman, but it seems he is trying to make a name for himself more than Bart Scott.

I agree he didn't blame him but I think he insinuates that Tee Higgins has some culpability.

In the sense he was involved in the play, of course he is. You can't pretend Higgins wasn't there. Still doesn't take away that it was a freak accident.

Bart said the following about Higgins, "He lowers his helmet and he kind of throws his body into his chest... so he didn't expect Tee Higgins to launch his body back into him."

I think that is a pretty scathing analysis of the play.
