Can’t wait!  I am one of the few people who can say they have attended every Beechwood State game, and I certainly do not plan on missing this one.  Safe travels to all and hope for a good, clean fight!

I agree. Suiter is good from 30 yards and in, but anything beyond that he will be sacraficing accuracy for distance.  Beechwood should have tried to get their kicker a couple in game reps, even if they didn't need a field goal.  Not a good thing coming in to the title game not having tried at least one.  Might matter, might not.

Is Beechwood a 4 man front on defense?

There really isn't a fixed set on either side of the ball. Beechwood will game plan the opponent and use a variety of looks. They will use a 3, 4 and even 5 man front on defense. Mostly a 4 man front. On offense they run a wide variety of sets also. They will go under center and shotgun, empty backfield/spread, single back, I formation and power I. Game and opponent dictates what they use most.

To your point on punt returns, Beechwood has fumbled SEVERAL. It truly is one of the few weaknesses in their game that I hope coach Rash has addressed.   It didn’t affect games bc they were up, but in a tight game like what I expect tomorrow, that could be the difference.

I don’t think it’s that! Although I do believe mayfield is hitting on all cylinders at the right time. Beechwood is too though. But I think it’s more we got spoiled for a while winning all of those championships and being at Kroger field year after year. Now that we are finally back after a little break it sorta feels like “we don’t know when we can make it back this far, gotta win now”    Sprinkle in a little of the tornado/community/do it for the town and it feels even more like championship or bust. There might actually be too much pressure on this team tomorrow. This will be my last post before the game tomorrow. I just hope they leave it all on the field.

Mayfield has too good a program to think that. I fully expect to see Mayfield as a regular title challenger. Sometimes things just don't fall right. Beechwood had a six year stretch from 2009-2015 without a title, and they had a couple championship quality teams in those years. It just didn't happen. Now they have 5 titles in the last 6 years across 1A and 2A. So Mayfield has their own 6 year stretch without a title. And in 2019 they were certainly within an eyelash of a title which would make this whole conversation moot. Would anyone be surprised if they won 2 or 3 titles over the next 6 years? I wouldn't be.

For those heading to the game from NKY, give yourself extra time. I just heard on the radio that 75 southbound will have a section down to 1 lane today. I believe it was around the Williamstown area.

I think they are that good, earlier I thought they might not be but proved me wrong time and again.

I think points will be at a premium today! The Tigers come in allowing 7 pts per game with 5 scoreless games. They Cardinals are giving up 10 pts per game with 4 scoreless games.  For both teams, these numbers could have been even lower considering running clocks and JV defenses on the field.  That's kind of scary if you ask me!!

Beechwood's schedule has them battle tested playing bigger schools early and often.  After loosing (In my eyes) Mr. KY Football, they have continued to have success on the ground with a RB by committee.  Can it continue today?  Can Hayden make enough plays to keep Mayfield's defense honest?  The Cardinals defensive strength is their box play.

The Cardinals seem to be peaking at the right time.  184 yards on 34 carries in the semis, Juju seems to be as healthy as he's been all season. QB Cartwright has come on in the playoffs coming off of the best two outings he's had all year. The Cardinals have a very balanced air attack and have athletes across the field to make plays. Will it be enough?

This game will come down to QB play. For that, I give the edge to Mayfield.
