Wow that is a ton of seniors, didn’t realize that’s how many they had.  Out of the starting offense and defense, how many are seniors?

What makes BG a different animal is their QB - I’m not sure if FD has seen one as versatile.  That said Boone for O was 6 of 25 for 60 yards.  Very athletic receivers were covered well.  Can the BG line give Deuce time?  Can Receivers get open?  BG runners get some running lanes?  O has played FD 4 straight and this is the best defense I’ve seen.

It’s that crappy schedule BG plays. They just don’t play those powerhouse teams in the eastern or the northern part of the state like Scott County and Southwestern does.  ?

One last shot at Scott, even in their best season the Purples ran the state 

I wonder how much the mental aspect of it will come into play for Douglass. If BG jumps out to an early 7-0 lead and holds for over a half will doubt start to set in for this Broncos squad that’s come up short since there frehman year?

Exactly, it’s tough to say because Douglass has rarely played from behind. The Purples on the other hand have played through early holes throughout the year.

I thought Dawson for Boyle is athletic, no? Is the BG QB more athletic than him? In addition to having a sparkplug like Quisenberry in his backfield?

I'd say a more efficient passer. In terms of athleticism I'd say comparable, although I would still give the edge to Deuce. 

Plenty of people blow smoke about who is good and who is not, but make no mistake, Bailey is the the cog.

Yes. 

I think this is the year for FD. Their defense is too good, and while BG has had a really good year I just think FD will be too much. Both teams played X, while FD played X in a scrimmage it was still treated as a game. FD performed better.

Just noticed that FD offense has given up more points than their defense during this playoff run. ?

Interesting fact… BG has been on both sides of this coin… Douglas’s defense is absolutely stacked…

…just like the 2005 BG defense was. In 2005, through 14 games, including playing St. X and a loaded Hopkinsville team, the Purples had given up 54 points. Lex Cath scored 49 in the Final  to the shock of everyone (due largely in part to turnovers). 

…then in 2011, BG faced the unstoppable force of the John Hardin offense that had scored 588 points through 13 games… BG was up like 35-0 at the end of the first quarter. 

Long post short… anything is possible regardless of seemingly insurmountable advantages on paper. 

I’m going with FD 27-20 but I wouldn’t be shocked if BG wins.
