Frederick Douglass Ty Bryant named Paul Hornung Award winner

Frederick Douglass senior Ty Bryant has been named the 2022 Paul Hornung winner as the state's top high school player by the Louisville Quarterback Club. Bryant is a University of Kentucky signee and the all-time leader in tackles at Douglass with 268. Congratulations to a fine young man and a great family!

Bryant is the 3rd straight Bronco to win this prestigious award along with Jager Burton (2020) and Dane Key (2021).

Congratulations Ty Bryant on Paul Hornung award presented by the Louisville QB Club. Ty finished with over a 4.0 GPA, great leader and player for us. He’s going to be great at Kentucky! The luncheon was today in Louisville.

Without Ty there’s a good chance FDHS doesn’t win the State Championship! He was clutch when it mattered. He’ll be a big loss for us next season but we’ll get to watch him with Dekel, Dane and Jager the next few years!
