Raceland comes in as the number two ranked team in 1A and the Rams are clearly a state title contender.  Highlands got their first win against Campbell and may be better than their current #11 ranking in our BGP 5A rankings.

Does Raceland have a real shot in this one or are they stepping up too high?

I would like to see Raceland be competitive but I have a feeling they might be stepping up too high.

I believe the Birds get this one in FT. Similar to Cov Cath/Pikeville.

Very intriguing matchup.

I think this is a nice challenge game for Raceland. They are very focused on winning a title. You have to challenge yourself and stretch yourself. With where Highlands has been the past few years, they are not invincible. Yes, Raceland knows they are the underdog but they will find out who they are and what they need to get better at to win a title.

I could see this as a good game and believe Raceland has a punchers chance of winning. With being in Ft Thomas, I’ll say Highlands wins. I believe this will be close though.

Second time this morning we're on the same page. Being in Fort Thomas gives the Birds a decided edge in this one. Raceland is unusually deep for a 1A school, so I don't expect them to be overwhelmed by Highlands' numbers. Should be a competitive game throughout. Looking for a big night out of Charlie Noon against a small-ish Rams secondary.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Raceland wins. If I am able, I may go watch this.

I would usually think this. Based on what I have saw of Highlands so far this season, it could be interesting  If Raceland plays physically and runs the ball well. The main factor that this will come down to will be depth, which most would think Highlands has the advantage with.

Interesting game. We know HHS can struggle against the run and I am sure Raceland will attempt to exploit that. On the other side, Raceland has won 3 games easily but neither of the 3 teams they have played has thrown it any more than 19 times even though they were losing big. Ashland = 14 passes, Russell= 17 and Rowan = 19. Highlands over the last 2 games has thrown it very effectively 38 times vs. SK and 31 times vs. Campbell for around 500 yards. Should be a fun one.

Kudos to the Rams for scheduling up.

That being said, my guess is that one of two things happens.  HHS comes out fast and furious and coasts, or Raceland hangs tough for a quarter or two but pulls away.  Birds 41 Rams 14.
