Sadly, interest in local high school basketball has dwindled over the years.  I’ve attended MANY full house tournament games at the Fieldhouse  4500 - 5000+.  

But it’s been a while

The KHSAA list past regional attendance records on their sites. Some years, the 10th region boys has no entry and the KHSAA has not updated that list since 2018, but here are some numbers for you all to crunch. Below is the year, where the event was located and highest nights attendnance. 

2006- Mason Co. 3,148

2007- Mason Co. 3,285

2008- Montgomery Co. 2,365

2009- NKU- 5,698

2010- Mason Co. 3,147

2011- Mason Co. 2,739

2012- Montgomery Co. 1,362

2013- Mason Co. 1,765

2014- Mason Co. 2,807

Can we put the argument that attendance will be down solely due to location? Can we stop worrying that Holmes won't hold the crowd? 

I don't think it is wise to use numbers that haven't been updated in 8 years...

It's the information available. The new numbers would be lower. Covid, attendance is down across the board anyway, opportunities to follow the game results on Twitter, etc.

Really? Just a silly comparison. The region is set up so each district can host every 4 years at a venue of their choice. We'll obviously drive to Rupp for state with no complaints....the 37th has won the region half the time in the last 10 years.?

Then the traditionalists will miss out on what's normally a pretty good tournament.

Besides, Everybody in the region seemed to show up fine for the 10th region Baseball Tournament last year that got moved to Holmes' baseball field and held "out of region" due to bad weather.

I’d love to see a picture from the semifinals and final from 2020 at GRC as well.

Impossible to tell in this picture. You could have some pictures of impressive crowds with the old information that I sent you as well, but it doesn’t mean that all of them were over 3000.

The top attended night at the last pre-covid 10th region tournament didn’t surpass 3,000. I’ve confirmed that.

That would be my guess. 

Only two teams have to make the drive and down double a is such a terrible drive.  

I would gladly drive from Cold Spring to Maysville than drive to Covington.
