I can see some of your points, but this man will bring more kids out to play at a "6a" school. He is a natural leader and the kids will follow him. Many kids were ran off by the last coach. The kids at Dixie want him as their coach, he has been coaching for quite awhile now, can't give you an exact number but it's been years. He is loved in the Dixie program, and he will put in the work, and dedication needed to make Dixie a great program. Varsity, jv, and freshman.

Not sure about the “years” comment. He took over as head coach in 2018. Won the championship in year one. He’s done a solid job and is a good dude. Not sure what his experience was before TF, but I’m not sure he has the resume to take over a big high school program. The NKMSAA isn’t exactly the SEC of middle school football. I’d certainly be rooting for him if he got the job though.

Dixie needs someone that's willing to invest in their feeder programs in order to grow the high school program.  Being a 6A school, they haven't been able to field a full freshman squad in at least 5 years.  Dixie Youth Colonels is finally in place with people running it for the right intentions.  Sekowski is running a great program at TF, and he is visible at Dixie Youth games.  The high school coach needs to be visible at the middle school and youth programs.  It goes a long way with these kids seeing the high school coach watching them play and interacting with them.

High school coaches don’t feel the need to be attached to youth unless it’s Saturday morning outside of the own practice.  Huge part of school program’s success but very few do it.  Kids and parents notice, that’s why you see more kids moving around out of district.

They should hire Shane Elkin he is an assistant coach there and has head coaching experience.

Kids loved him, would be an absolute slam dunk hire. Brings experience and some continuity with whats left of the staff. That defensive staff was solid under him.

If the rumor mill is correct, Coach Elkin is soon to be announced as the head coach at Goshen High in Ohio. If this is true, big loss for the red Colonels.

If true, could this indicate a cleaning of house at Dixie? If Brossart and Elkin are both gone, who remains with the ability to lead the ship? Nick Rice? If no one, does someone come in and bring in a whole new staff?

Nick would be a great hire, IMO.

Guys rarely "bring in a whole new staff" these days. Hiring in the schools doesn't work that way anymore. If they're bringing in an entire staff then a vast majority better be paraprofessionals.

I was told when Coach Brossart informed everyone he was stepping down that he had 3 staffers stepping down as well.

Do we know anyone that has applied for this job?  Shown an interest?

Heard last night that Dixie heavily pursued Terry Brown from CovCath, and that he has turned them down.

Last I heard, not sure if Dixie is continuing to pursue him or if the have turned their focus.

Would have been a great get by Dixie. Truthfully believe Dixie needs to hire a “younger” guy, maybe one a little more inexperienced than they would like, maybe fresh out of college football guy, who can bring a new energy to that program, relate with the players, and get a guy or two to come out of history class to come play for him.
