I think there is a pretty wide gulf between the jobs that people connect to Josh and those he actually applies for.  Not saying that is the case here, but he doesn't apply or go after a lot of the jobs people connect him to.

Nailed it.

Until the football program is given the same attention as the basketball program it will always play second fiddle.

  • I am not a candidate for the Lincoln County job. But, if @Mr.Network accepts the head coaching position, and @theguru is on staff, I will commit to setting up the pylons before the game.  According to

If they get him they will have a great young coach. There may be a reason schools contact a person to apply for a job? Kind of like the pretty girl getting asked to the prom by many suitors?

I just don't think his record speaks loud enough, especially in 3A Football. Not recently that is. It's not a knock to Josh either. Just opinions I've gathered.

….yeah, their 5 playoff wins and 1 Region Title the last few years just aren’t remotely good enough for a job like this.   I completely expect others at schools with multiple Region titles and at least double that playoff win total in that time frame at more tradition rich programs should be knocking the door down to get the Lincoln job.

Josh is a great coach and person, and I approve this message!

Something else I’ve noticed on here and I think it was a few pages back, but talking about for whomever the new hire is and what would constitute as a “successful” season and I think it was mentioned that all depended on who the hire is? Someone mentioned .500 next season would be considered just that and I’d agree with that and then some. If that’s considered successful next year, though,  what would the 21 season that arguably had the biggest and best senior class in almost 15 years qualify as?

You can’t sit on both sides of that fence, though.

For the record, against that schedule they had this year? .500 was pretty dang good I thought. Lincoln might have started off slow, but people don’t remember that, they remember how you finish.

If people are just patient and supportive then Lincoln will be fine with whomever the hire ends up being, but that would take some rational, mature and logical reasoning skills which we as a society seem to be lacking more and more these days, myself included.

Well said.

Besides everything else today. Were there any more confirmed interviews today?

? on this end.

461.  Grass Drills in Death Valley tomorrow morning in single digit temperatures if we don't hit 500 .... soon.  I don't have a team right now. Nothing I would enjoy more than blowing a whistle and pushing some guys through a long session of up-downs.   ?

Let’s run the hill from the track around the light pole and back. Two lines, backs and ends in front, and linemen behind. Go hard and we’ll stop after 10 of them.

On the whistle…….

I’d be shocked if their wasn’t a hire in place by next week at the latest. I have no idea who it’s going to be.

It doesn't look like fear is motivating this group. Things slowed down a lot after these two posts.
