Let’s start here!
1- Spencer did good but he only changed the winning attitudes of the players he had in highschool. Kids would run threw a wall for him.
2- nothing and I mean nothing has been done to fix our little league program here since Travis redone it 6 years ago.

In that 1 year we had almost 200 kids playing little league. Since then nobody has kept the work up and we are licking to have 50-60 kids playing now.
we have dropped the ball and our coaches haven’t fixed it period. That’s a problem.

When I say we make the right hire I’m saying we have to hire someone that comes here ready to make a farm system from the little league to middle school and with fixing those problems will eventually fix your high school program. They gotta make a hire who wants to change the culture not just come here win some games and eventually leave for somewhere such as Boyle.
Kids could stand behind Levi knowing he’s done it threw every level of Lincoln football and would do everything to get it back to that level.

I agree 110% with everything you just said. But, speaking in recent years just in Coach Crutchfield’s tenure. It is the hardest thing in the world trying to get a high school program revamped, middle school program, and little league. You have to have help. That was the point I made earlier yesterday about getting solid working assistants to help with everything. It’s tough. You have to have full on community support, and most importantly administrative support. Lincoln’s little league football program is a complete disaster and anyone from there knows exactly why. The point I’m making is, it takes a village and it takes a lot of hard working people with the time and patience to help at all levels. If it’s truly about the kids of Lincoln County, then everyone should jump on board to help in any way possible.

Until the football program is given the same attention as the basketball program it will always play second fiddle.

  • I am not a candidate for the Lincoln County job. But, if @Mr.Network accepts the head coaching position, and @theguru is on staff, I will commit to setting up the pylons before the game.  According to

  • I think there is a pretty wide gulf between the jobs that people connect to Josh and those he actually applies for.  Not saying that is the case here, but he doesn't apply or go after a lot of the job

Just out of curiosity, have you talked to Levi about this as well? I agree 110% with everything you just said, I’m just curious if you have had conversations with him yourself about how he wants to address things and the future of Lincoln football, I’ve always said I think Levi would be a fantastic hire, but I wonder sometimes if he would take the exact approach of Spencer, which is ok but needs to be added to as you mentioned.

You are 100% correct.

The feeder system has been the #1 issue for a long time, at least since the middle school opened in 1994.

We thought the middle school would be a benefit, but it ended up being a liability and funneled the kids into one team too soon.

When I played youth football, there were 5 teams through the 8th grade. We started freshman football with 30 well-coached players.

The middle school has had the effect of weeding out players before they have fully developed, and they move on to some other activity. Football is a numbers game and it has hurt the numbers. It’s been a long time since LCHS had 30 freshman playing football.

We need buy-in with the Fiscal Court, who now run youth football, by way of the Parks and Recreation Department. Little league football, run by the Lions Club, was very strong and competitive from the early 60s until the late 90s. It has fallen off significantly under Parks and Recreation, and for LCHS to be successful, it has to be revamped.

I think that is a non-negotiable point that the decision makers understand and are willing to insist on from the new hire—helping revamp the feeder system. And, any coach taking the job should want that.

I can honestly say that this hire will result if I move my child or not. Spending the last 14-15 years helping with little league and raising money with Travis and helping with Spencer only to see we are at square 1 again. Honestly if we don’t hire Levi I’m afraid of who all may leave. A lot of people are standing behind him and Cooper in the area. If the hiring committee don’t see that than it’s a slap in the face to the whole community. Also point out with those two leading weightlifting theirs been 79-85 kids coming out to get ready that speaks volume to me who the kids want to play for!

I thought you was Lincoln County to the end? So if they don't hire somebody you like you will move your son. Smh

You have talked down on kids that tranfer schools, you was the main one complaining about kids leaving Lincoln County to play baseball at Danville, and kids leaving Lincoln to play football elsewhere, because parents thought it was the best thing to do for there kid. Tables changed quickly now you're talking about moving your kid elsewhere.

The discussion needs to stay about the open job, potential candidates, and hiring process - not about one another.

I’m gonna support the program no matter who they hire. I have faith they will make the right decision, they did last time and I think they will this time. Whoever it may be. The are several different keys to having a program being successful, one of those is community support and it’s a big one.

Oh I don’t wanna leave. It would be a tough pill to swallow but at the end of the day I’m going to have to do what’s best for my youngest. Yeah I’ve busted some balls on transfers and I’m sure I’ll get it back. But if you wanna call me out use your real name not a screen name ! And really we don’t have to leave he can stay here and just play baseball or basketball . I won’t transfer to Boyle or Danville just to buy a championship……… there’s more options like Casey, or garrard!!!!

This everyone.

If any of you want to discuss it further privately that is your business.

This conversation is becoming very one sided.

If Rogers is the guy, congratulations to him! I think there are a few other key voices that better be heard as well, but, the Administration will do what's best!

I wish I more was more updated with this, but I'm currently not.

Craig Foley out as the head coach at Frankfort… Heard his name mentioned as an interviewee yesterday.
