Levi Rogers has applied for the job. From what I have gathered from a very reliable source, there are 4 people being considered for the job. Interviews have been taking place with 2 of the 4 already been completed. So hopefully we will know something within the next week.

Until the football program is given the same attention as the basketball program it will always play second fiddle.

  • I am not a candidate for the Lincoln County job. But, if @Mr.Network accepts the head coaching position, and @theguru is on staff, I will commit to setting up the pylons before the game.  According to

  • I think there is a pretty wide gulf between the jobs that people connect to Josh and those he actually applies for.  Not saying that is the case here, but he doesn't apply or go after a lot of the job

Great info @ckyguy ...thanks for that.

And welcome to BGP!

I could see an issue arising out of possible hiring within Lincoln’s current staff. (That being Rogers or Cooper) Who would those guys get to help them as assistant coaches if one was hired? Crutchfield ran into the same problem as the head coach it seemed. I think it could be a major issue trying to find quality assistants to help at Lincoln County. Honestly, that could be for any coach they hire. If you were to hire a current head coach away, he could possibly bring some of his current staff with him. But again, that doesn’t always happen either. I think that’s something the administration needs to ask/address in the hiring process with all candidates.

Maybe they are “waiting” for a good reason.

Hearing the two interviewees have been…

1. Josh Jaggers (LaRue County)

2. Craig Foley (Frankfort)

I think both have a good shot, but Foley and current Lincoln County principal Michael Godbey worked in the Frankfort school district together in recent years. So we can all take that for what it’s worth…

You can say Lincoln has officially interviewed these two?

I wasn’t sitting in on the interview! Ha! But my source is very reliable. I trust it.

I’m being told your source is wrong! No one has been interviewed as of yesterday.

Not sure…. I was told that two had been interviewed and those were the two names I received. Foley was on the Lincoln campus within the last few days I was told. Jaggers interview was not considered official in person I’m assuming. I’d say his was over the phone. Either way, I do trust those will be your top two candidates. I don’t see Rogers or Cooper getting hired from what I have heard.

That will be a mistake.

I agree 110%. They need to hire the right guy or I can see some kids heading west on 150 or north on 27. Rogers should’ve already been hired. He’s the right man for the job. But again, I think what’s holding them back from giving it to him is the lack of assistant coaches he can bring in to help.

Look for Levi and possibly a few players to head north on 27 if the right guy isn’t hired. I’ve said from day one that if they don’t take a serious look at Levi he will end up with Crutchfield at Garrard County.

Rogers or Cooper, EITHER ONE, will be a hire that the community supports more than Foley or Jaggers. This is the message I constantly receive when I contact people associated with the program. This is not an insult nor a comparison of resumes, it's just the opinion I constantly receive. Cooper already teaches. He's not being discussed enough but he's been just as important to the rebuild as Rogers was. Regardless, either assistant needs to be the guy, or things for Lincoln Football go south. Just opinions I get, thought I would share.
