Open Job: Lincoln County

Saw on another post that the number of applicants is higher than previously thought? Maybe the job has more interest than we thought.

Until the football program is given the same attention as the basketball program it will always play second fiddle.

  • I am not a candidate for the Lincoln County job. But, if @Mr.Network accepts the head coaching position, and @theguru is on staff, I will commit to setting up the pylons before the game.  According to

  • I think there is a pretty wide gulf between the jobs that people connect to Josh and those he actually applies for.  Not saying that is the case here, but he doesn't apply or go after a lot of the job

Come on more applicants ….. we need to get to 29 pages to compete with the golden lions!

I think this job will have a ton of interest, just because of the track record of the administration, they are really behind the football program, to be honest they are behind every sport, I’m a move in, so i can see it better then people who have been here their whole life most likely, but the support is there, a lot of coaches love to have support and stability, pretty much giving these coaches free rein to do what they need to do and supporting them along the way. I think it’s a better job then Garrard, not even close in my opinion, don’t shoot me down for saying that but I really believe that it is.

I was just talking about the number of pages on the message board lol.

Was sort of thinking the same thing. I'm not sure it is right now.

It “could” be a better job. But as of right now , it’s not.

Who is running the weight program for the off-season? Or have they started yet?

I didn’t say in the now, but future wise I feel like it could be, with the right coach, the right mindset, Lincoln County Is a big county, without a city school, if you have the right staff in place, that gets involved not just in high school but middle and youth league, you can really draw interest and their is a ton of kids to pick from in my opinion, it’s there, it just has to be Mined, you can’t be a coach and just expect to come in and coach high school football, you have to be involved in all three levels, just my opinion.

Is there a timeline for this job? Usually things leak, but I'm not hearing anything out of the community right now. Nerves.

Hearing 10 applied, they was supposed to meet this morning to set up interviews.

If Lincoln has not started interviews yet, they are dropping the ball on this hire. While I haven't seen anything publicly, I would have to think by Lincoln waiting, it does not sound well for Rogers and Cooper. Can anybody better than me and with more sources provide any update? Schools seem to be hiring every day but Lincoln is in no hurry.

I would've thought that if Rogers was going to be the guy they would've already completed the hire as well. Especially if he is running the weight room and off-season stuff.

Thought the same thing. You would think if Rogers was the guy they would've named it a long time ago. The longer it takes the more you'd think he's not the guy.
