Many times when they only pay 85K they still get a car, and a living expense account.

I have heard this to be true all over, especially at Georgetown.

I too have hard time believing $290k, but then again Cronin was there for a quarter-century.

Eddie was one of the first calls, whether he will apply, or is interested, is to be determined. But if he is offered even just half of that 290, no one will question his decision.

One interesting tidbit, the Head Coaching job at Georgetown has still not been posted to the NAIA website. Now I know Cronin, retired Tuesday, but usually the search begins immediately and the job posted ASAP. This leads me to believe this is going to be an in house hire and they are waiting to post it until they know they have their guy, or that they are waiting to here back from Eviston or Landis- which is about the closest thing to an “in-house” hire, outside the house.

Job is still not posted on NAIA Career Center... as mentioned before, they are waiting for yay or nay from in house coach, Eddie, Landis, or waiting until Holidays come and go.

Some may remember this and some may not.  When Kevin Donnelly resigned after the 92’ season, Cronin was the one who the players wanted to take over as HC, but Adminstration hired Bob Brush, who was the DC at Wake Forest.  The program took a nose dive after Brush’s first season and was eventually let go and then they went back and hired Cronin.  Bringing in a D1 Coach might sound great, but the Tigers have made that mistake before.

I was the head coach at Paris and Coach Brush came by for a visit. Remember that well!

Coach Donnelly has a good book that talks about Georgetown and leaving briefly. Brush brought a WCO in when Georgetown had been a Red Faught run and shoot team. When Cronin was hired he brought back Red’s offense.

I played under Coach Cronin (Head coach Donnelly) when he was o-line coach. Fantastic man of character! My father was on the search committee as a parent.  Everything above is correct. GC pulled $ from Donnelly's summer camps, they let his wife's job go as Dean of Woman, and delayed the new football stadium. Donnelly left.  Then the new president Crouch over rode the committee and hired his buddy Brush.  He was a disaster! I wonder if they are considering Steve Hill who played line on first national champ team and on staff like 17 years.

And the Colonels breathe a sigh of relief ....

Correct! Heard this morning that Eddie was called and offered, but not offered enough $ to even consider moving his family back down south. Win win for all involved! Go Colonels.

Apparently low enough for it to be “almost insulting” to EE.
