I'm hearing a lot of talk of the possibility that this tournament will not resume entirely. I really hope that will not be the case. That'd be an incredible missed opportunity for the peaking teams that have had their eyes on the trophy recently.

It would be the same for every team, they'd all be "Off their game" at least a little bit.

 

That said, a lot of these kids would be moving on to AAU ball in a couple of weeks.

I understand everyone's disappointment. But isn't better to be safe than sorry? Ultimately, nothing is more important than the safety and welfare of the players, coaches, officials and fans. If the major, professional sports feel it's prudent to shut down, it's not crazy to think that high schools should shut down as well.

It's a snowball effect. Once one event, tournament, or convention is cancelled it makes it easier for others to follow suit. And no one wants to be "that person" who fails to act and it results in a death.

I imagine you are correct. With everything else in the country being shut down I get it though. You don't want to be the only tournament in the country that goes on as scheduled just to make the money from it.

I’m pretty sure the SEC has put a stop to all recruiting and has canceled coaching visits until further notice.

IMO, a sad state of affairs with others making decisions for us.

This is now setting a precedent that will be easier to repeat off in the future.
