Speeding tickets

Or you have schools like Murray State that sell WAY more parking tags than parking spots

Thats definently true too. Just transfered to NKU and parking is terrible over there. I havent gotten a ticket there tho. I actually got ticked off at not being able to find a spot one day so i parked in the 20 minute parking for like an hour and a half an to my surprise no ticket. I was kinda stunned.

I've been pulled over more than 30 times but I've only gotton 2 speeing tickets and 1 improper passing ticket. One of my speeding tickets I wasn't speeding.

I have received two. I deserved the first one for sure, but the second one I wasn't to terribly happy about. I was going 10 over on the AA highway, but I didn't argue it cause I was speeding, just one of those cases where everyone was doing it, lol.

I did traffic school for both to keep them off my record. Let's not get anymore, lol.

I have had 2 tickets in my time. I got one in Berea, Ky and the cop pulled me over and said I was doing 53 in a 35 but here is the thing I pulled out of the street we lived on and up hill by the Berea College and I was speeding not a chance but anyway had to pay to go to driver school and had to go on my 21st birthday. The 2nd ticket I got a state trooper pulled me over doing 75 in a 65 and wrote me the citation and then 2 day's later I seen him he told me he decided to drop the charge I guess I lucked out there.

I have never received a ticket, but have been in a car where the driver got one but definately deserved it.

I have been pulled over twice though when the officer straight out lied to me. Once I was with a friend in a beat up truck going up a hill on the AA after being at a stop. The cop said we were going 90 in a 55, made us get out of the car, patted us down and checked the truck. The thing is, we were going up a hill, and the speedometer only went up to 80. The driver insists that he couldn't even get the truck to do 80 down a hill, let alone 90, yet we never got in trouble because we didnt do anything wrong.

Another time, on a Valentine's Day, I was stopped at a stoplight with no other cars around taking a girl to the movies. When I started going, an officer pulled me over, and told me I was going 88 in a 45, while following the person in front of me too closely. The cop only asked for my liscense and not for a proof of insurance. He said he was going to check if anything came up on me, yet just stood outside his car doing nothing and didn't get a radio call or anthing when he came back. Nothing happed out of it, but it was physically impossible for me to be driving that fast at the time, and there was nobody else on the road for me to be following. Nothing happened to me, and you can't possibly tell me a cop would have let me go if I really was driving 43 mph over the speed limit.

I've never had a speeding ticket, but did pay a $44 fine in 1979 for running a stop sign.

What would really bother me is if I were pulled over for speeding on the freeway after watching car after car pass me. How do they determine who to pull over? This happened to my sister on I 64 once. She said the officer said "Did you know you were speeding?" She answered , "Yeah I guess I was. I was just trying my best to not get run over by all the other cars passing me!"

I had one on my way to church to meet my grandma and I was late.:madman: My sister has had like 9.

The University of Louisville may be the worst in the state about that...I swear to you, there is a parking lot in the middle of campus that is supposed to service 4 (FOUR) dorms, and I know it doesnt even have 150 spots in it...Then, when you park at the end of a row or something, ticket. As many parking tickets as I've gotten, I could have paid my tuition for a year.

:scared: WOW you must be a good talker.

I also told him who my mother is. She's a county politician. .

If I'm the officer and a person drops a "name," a ticket is being written.

I have had one speeding ticket. It was for going 78 in a 65 on I-64. He said he dropped it down to 75, but big deal really. I was going the same speed as the other people around me and I am used to being able to go up to 80 without having to worry about a ticket on I75.

I got pulled over once in Bell Co. for going like 80 in a 55 but I knew the cop so I didnt get a ticket there.

Also, campus cops have gotten me for "running" a red light and a stop sign on campus. I got out of the light, but the stop sign was a no, even though it was 3am on campus with nobody around. I guess I rolled through it, but it wasnt a blatant non stop.

I have gotten 3 in my time. I got one in Oxford, OH about 6 years ago for going 32 in a 25!!!($80). The other two were a little touchy too, got one on I675 by the Indian Ripple exit about 10 years ago. The entire I675 highway is 65mph speed limit now, but back then there was about a 2 mile stretch that for some reason was 55. Cop sitting right by the overpass where the limit changed from 65 to 55($120). That one was 67 in a 55. First one was when I was 18, 65 in a 55($110). I am 3 for 3 in 16 years of driving(3 pull overs, 3 tickets).

cshs81: "I'm sorry Mr. Mayor, but you WERE speeding!"

I have gotten 2 speeding tickets. One I got for going around 60 in a 45 area after going back to my apartment after work. That one was pretty legit, but it was late and there was nobody on the road, and I wasn't going nuts or anything, he just caught me on a downhill slope... I didn't care for that cop too much.

The next one was also fairly legit, but I think his radar was way off. I had pulled out of my works parking lot and got caught behind someone going about 5 below the speed limit, so I pull around him to someone (the cop, in an undercover SUV) who's going the speed limit, but I had just speeded up going around the other guy, so I figured I'd just go ahead and keep it up a little and go back to the other lane. When I did that, there was another car going even slower, immediately ahead, so I hit the gas to speed in front of the cop and avoid an accident. I actually looked at my speedometer which peaked at 55 (still 10 over the speed limit), but the officer had me down for 63. He was really nice about it though... although for a detective (which he was), he wasn't too bright, because he listed me as African American under race (as most people would attest that I am in fact caucasian).

None here, been driving now almost 40 years.
