I would also like to say that the Ryle fans stood up and cheered for their team till the very end in the rain. Much to be said about the passion you have for your program. Good luck in the future.

 

I noticed this as well. At one point during the game, I told my dad that I wished that I'd heard as much from the Trinity students just a few sections over as I had from the Ryle students that made the trip.

It was one of those times at 41-0 and I was like, man it doesn't seem that bad, from watching.

Definitely agreed.

The points are there whether anyone thinks they're there or not. Just ask the opposition.

You are 100% right, we got blasted by Male in 2000, trying to get the edge on them, and beat them deep one on one.....2001, 2002, and 2006 we changed it up, and the rest is history...

 

 

 

When I watched last night, a couple of the guys that I was with, and I, were talking that if they spread us out, leaving only 6-7 in the box, and used misdirection, it would be so much more difficult to stop, being that they have two great RB's

 

No question Ryle HAD 2 great running backs. Unfortunately, they chose to put one of them of them in a minor role (WR). Ryle doesn't throw the ball very often. Ryle was more effective with their best weapons in the backfield (Murray & Gray). Morgan was hurt in the 1st Dixie game & Gray moved to receiver (great hands). Murray had a great game. Next game, Gray has food poisoning- no factor. Murray played great. Campbell Cty.- Murray was awesome. Gray played well. Meade Cty.- Murray has 30+ touches again & does well. Gray still at WR. Against Henderson Co., # 2 & #3 are finally back in the backfield & both do well. Trinity- look at the film. We were only successful in the Boone County offense when our two best backs were in the backfield. This is 2006, not 19--. I've talked to several players & they said the only adjustment Ryle made on offense was to figure out how to readjust the blocking scheme on "slam". No coach on offense talked to any players. No halftime adjustments? 27-0? Buck, Slam, Guts ???????????

But before this game, Ryle people thought Bryson Warner/Ryle coaching staff was the best ever...What would the Hockmans had done with this team?!?!? Maybe not have beat Trinity but it would have maybe been respectatable!

I honestly think after the first half Warner was trying to "not get blown out" instead of trying to get back into the football game?!?!?!

We always joke that we mind as well put on baby powder blue jerseys and change our name to the Rebels because of the lack of adjustments are coaches like to make on the offensive side of the ball. Like were going to move the ball on Trinity running the ball 3 straight plays every time we get the ball.

 

I really don't want to hear nothing about the private/public school debate because Ryle had/has the talent to be able to play with these schools, but what it comes down to is coaching/preperation/tradition and in those three categories T is second to none.

I totally agree. I do not believe T had more talent on the field than Ryle.

They had better preperation. If Ryle would expand their offense, not just

this game, but all season they would have a much better chance to win a

title. You would think Coach Warner would know from personal experience

that being totally one dimensional does not beat teams with equal or slightly

better talent.

To be fair... doing this is what made Ryle 'hot'. They were playing great ball with this scheme.

Murray had a great game. Gray had food poisoning-played only on defense. Meade Cty- Murray still at TB-Gray at WR. Murray had a great game- Gray,also. Against Henderson Co., Murray is now the TB, Gray at WR. Murray-another huge game, also Gray, some on def. At State, it was Boone County revisited. Unfortunately, against a stronger opponent, we needed Murray & Gray. They needed to be in the backfield together. Our offensive staff had other ideas (Boone County-one back-one ball) & we paid the price. I talked to several players & our half-time adjustments were a joke - how do we adjust our blocking schemes on "slam". Few offensive coaches even talked to the players. Our only success in the 2nd half was when we went back to our original offense- Murray & Gray together. "Buck", "Slam", "Guts",-one back, Power I, what year is this 19..? This is 2006. We didn't adjust & we didn't use our best players effectively. It was easier to revert to what we knew. That worked against inferior teams - not Trinity. I heard a coach comment that Trinity hadn't seen a Power I formation & wouldn't be able to stop it. I said that "T" hadn't seen a Single Wing formation either but could probably stop that. Our players deserved a better effort from some of our coaches- they revisited "Boone County O "; it was easy & convenient for them- something more imaginative would have required more effort. Fortunately, our players gave a better effort.

Not to make halftime adjustments when you are losing by 20+ points is a travesty.

4. What was the T staff trying to prove calling a flea flicker early in the fourth quarter? It seemed a bit like they where rubbing Ryle's nose in the dirt at that point.

 

5. Every program needs to look at how T approaches a season and follow their example. They are the standard.

That was a "finesse" play. Hey, if Trinity is a "finesse" team they are going to run "finesse" plays.
