By changing something, NOT doing the same thing he did in the first half. Who cares if you lose 70-0 or 41-7 its the last game of the year, might as well try something new. I am not saying anything would have worked against Trinity, but to not even make an attempt at changing shows alot about the coach, to me!

Please, please, please... lets not drop the "smack you in the mouth" reference in connection with Trinity. Leave that one (along with "smash-mouth") to the rest of the football world. The day that the Rocks run through a paper banner with some "smash-mouth" slogan is the day I turn in my lucky power T hat.

Congrats to Ryle for making it to the title game, not many people can say they did that. You guys are a very young program and are on the right track.

 

For a second there at the beginning of the game when T went 3 and out on the first drive of the game (I don't think that ever happened to T once this season) I was thinking oh no may be the rain really will help Ryle. However over the game T proved to be a little bit to tough for Ryle.

 

Trinity O looked great. The O-line blocked great and gave Petrino time to run or make throws, the 3rd down blocking were great. Petrino really did take some shots all night, give ryle credit were it is due. Running game nick did great and Tim make the defense respect the running game to open up the passing game. Wide out's great route running, the key in the game I thought. Even the Tight End Miller had a great catch for a key first down, and he blocked great.

 

Trinity D. #8 had a monster hit to #2. The entire D stopped the running game and did not let the QB run or give him options to pass down the field because the receivers were covered. The D-line did not let any holes open up the entire game for their running back. That says a lot because Ryle's running game was what got them to the game.

 

T special teams. The twins did a great job of fair catching the punts in that rain. Field position was great for Trinity all night long, great coverage for Trinity. Tydlacka had 2 key FG's early in the game a 20 something and a 40 yarder. When T went 3 and out to start the game he really switched the field with his punt. And miller the long snapper did a great job of getting the wet ball there.

It was one of those times at 41-0 and I was like, man it doesn't seem that bad, from watching.

But before this game, Ryle people thought Bryson Warner/Ryle coaching staff was the best ever...What would the Hockmans had done with this team?!?!? Maybe not have beat Trinity but it would have maybe been respectatable!

I honestly think after the first half Warner was trying to "not get blown out" instead of trying to get back into the football game?!?!?!

The Hockmans? You are joking right? Trinity would have beat Ryle by 50 plus if the Hockmans were at Ryle still, that coaching staff was a joke, there was no discipline at all. The players would do what ever they wanted, granted the Hockmans might have had a great football mind but they really were'nt the guys to run a football program IMO.

I have tried to to read these posts and overlook some of the remarks, but your posts seem to stand out and get under my skin.

 

Congrats to the Rocks! They deserve our respect and I have stated that. Ryle earned the respect of our entire community this season and played with passion all season. They came up against a really good team and lost in the Championship game. They are now and will forever be in the record books as 4-A Ky State Runner Ups. They were still playing football, learning how to compete in a championship against all odds while thousands of other schools have been home for weeks. Show some respect for once.

 

Someday soon a NKY team will be standing in your shoes. It's my hope we will show class.

I'm sorry if you have or had a son on the team. He should be proud of what he accomplished. A state runner-up is an amazing accomplishment.

 

Ryle played hard and tough, but they weren't a very good football team. I thought the defense played very well, but the offense was the worst I've seen this year. Maybe the Raiders just had an off night. Nevertheless, they had four first downs the whole game against Trinity's starting defense. To put that in perspective, Eastern, the last place team our district had more first downs on one drive.

 

Every year we hear the same thing about a running team from out in the state that plays "smashmouth" or "mountain ball" that's going to "out-physical" the "finesse" team from St. Matthews. Or how running back X on this state team is best player in 10 years and he runs a 4.6, etc. Every year it's the same old story. You may not have espoused these views, but many Raider supporters did. Maybe one year there will be a different ending to the story, but if this Ryle team was the best 4-A NKY team in some time, me thinks not.

So I think even if Bill Parcells was coaching Thursday night Ryle would still have been destoryed! But yea congrats to Warner he kept the game kinda close, by running the ball the hole game! I guess he accomplished what he wanted and maybe the players did to. Now they can say they didnt lose to Trinity by 50 plus!

Try being a senior on the team Hockman's last season. It was a joke, our discipline, the stuff that went on that season.

Yea im sure some of the players like them because of the simple fact that the Hockmans didnt make anybody do anything on that team! Thats why he isnt coaching Ryle anymore, he went 2-8 one season with a very very talented team ,Great coach right? He didnt do anything while he was here and Bryson and Co. made it to the state finals in FOUR YEARS! I think he mistaked Ryle with a flag football team!(joking)
