New owners have remodeled and upgraded facilities. Little tweeks have all been good for me. e.g. I like their new carryout container for fries. The buns on their sandwiches seem much fresher. I had cole slaw with a Big Boy platter, it definitely tasted like it was freshly made and was the best cole slaw at Frisch's in a long time for me. The quality of every thing I have eaten there since the ownership change is better. This review includes food I have eaten from at least 5 different locations in Cincinnati.

 

VOR, rarely disagree with you especially about BW football; but, the Frisch's I hit most often are Maysville and Cold Spring and both are consistently apologizing for the tasteless bun change (said something about Knochelman(?) Bakery was now their supplier. Haven't even asked them about the terribly small patties now on the BigBoy. UK business school teaches a concept called "dumb sizing" and I think with a broken heart that is what is transpiring.

Visited last week in Florence, I stopped ordering Big Boys due to their shrinking size. I ordered a Super Big Boy which is now my go to sandwich. They brought me a regular Big Boy bun with with regular Big Boy patties smashed to a larger diameter to appear larger. I sent it back, they are making it hard for me to keep visiting.

 

Just curious, I am near 60 and rarely see you people eating there.

 

Any of the younger crowd like Frisch's?

 

I’m not exactly the younger crowd (I’ll be 50 next year) but Frisch’s has at best, been just ok for me for the 20+ years I’ve lived in the area. I used to do the breakfast bar on occasion, but haven’t even done that in a few years. They aren’t quick enough to be “fast food” and aren’t good enough for me to take the time for a sit down meal there.

I wonder when the Big Boy patties were downsized. I noticed them being smaller years ago - long before the owner change.

Our Klosterman driver at the store occasionally brings in a Frisch’s cup with coffee so they are probably the supplier...

IMO, the Frisches in Cold Spring has taken a dramatic step backwards since the new ownership took place.

I ordered Fresh Toast one morning that closely resembled jumbo shrimp more closely than French Toast.

 

I find that change is normally always for the worse.

They are definitely cutting cost to keep up with the hipster pop up shops. I need extra tartar sauce to sweeten the big boy now.

When that coke vs pepsi switch happened, I was amazed at how much that bothered people. Coke and pepsi are pretty much interchangeable for me. Coke vs pepsi plays zero factor for me when I think about where to eat. I have no clue which restaurant carries which brand.
