7 gallons, OMG!

They were either feeding a large group of people, or panic buying.   Their chili is Ok.  I'd put it on par with Wendy's.  But it wasn't something I'd miss if it went away.

My wife and I visited Independence Frisch’s one day last week at 12:30.  One server, one cook and one food server/bus person.  Probably 10 of us in there and nobody very happy.  Someone previously men

Same TB, same.

Frisch's has all the Big Boys in storage at their commissary.

Last Friday all remaining employees at the commissary were let go. While it was not a surprise, I believe this was earlier than most thought.

The one in Somerset is really busy in the mornings when the breakfast bar is out.  The rest of the day can be hit or miss, but they do a really big business during breakfast.  It's been there since the late 80s.

Any word if it is staying open or not?

I haven't heard anything about it closing.  It's in a really good location.  I'm not sure which ownership group owns it.   They aren't on the closure list that was published by the Herald Leader last month.

I'm curious to see what goes into the Frisch's location in Fort Wright. That's some pretty prime real-estate there.

Please, not another car wash.

My money is on yet another 10 minute (in reality 45 minute) Oil Change place.  They only have 1 down there already and they have 2 car washes, 2 tire places (3 if you count WalMart) and multiple burrito and other restaurants.

Prediction - Chik FIL A next door buys that property and builds a new building on it. Their current property is too small for the amount of business they do.

How much money can an investor make off a car wash at a prime location? They're all over US 27 headed out to Alexandria. I know with all the homes going up in Central and Southern Campbell Co it makes sense. I've always was just curious.

Way too small. Sometimes you can't even get into the drive through from 17. I can't tell you how many times since it's been open that I've just driven by because it's so hard to get into at times. I'm just not sure it would make sense financially for them to make that move and start all over again. So much of their business is drive through....I'm not sure a larger restaurant would drive enough business to warrant the cost.

I'm not sure that another restaurant makes sense. There is a lot of competition in that area. You've got several fast food joints (Wendy's, Arby's, BK, White Castle, McD's, Subway, Guthries, DQ and soon to be Sonic in addition to Chik Fil A). There's Chipotle and Hot Heads. There's casual dining with Bob Evans, Roadhouse, Harmon's and BW's.  There's a Mexican, Chinese and two pizza places. And you've got a nicer place with Walt's up the road. I just don't know what else the area needs that would be better than what's already there. Maybe a good solid, greasy spoon type Diner?

Yes!  Hopefully a 24 hour place.  Waffle House is fantastic, but sometimes a change of pace would be nice.
