The saddest picture you may see today - the Frisch's Big Boy Graveyard.

I saw something on line suggesting some sort of fund be put together to buy all these and place them around the tri-state area, a la the flying pigs or the Mr. Red statues.

My wife and I visited Independence Frisch’s one day last week at 12:30.  One server, one cook and one food server/bus person.  Probably 10 of us in there and nobody very happy.  Someone previously men

My daughter-in-law suggested putting them in the American Sign Museum in Cincinnati.

It's been a while since I have been there, but I think they already have one there.

There is.  I don't know if it's specifically Frisch's or just a generic Big Boy.

Food quality was an issue a while back, but the last few times I have eaten over the past year at Frisch's the food quality is as good as it has been in years. Service is a problem. Some restaurants just seem like they have not recovered from COVID in their staffing.

White Castle service is not good, no matter what location I visit.

Bob Evans is just now getting back within range of their pre-COVID service level. Still a little hit and miss at times and not up to pre-COVID level, but getting there.

Wendy's was the fastest drive thru in fast food pre-COVID, even faster than Chik-fil-A IMO. That drive thru service took a beating in COVID. The last couple times I have been to Wendy's, the drive thru speed and service was back to wow levels.

I'll let my daughter-in-law know.  Thanks.

Poor Big Boy can't catch a break.

Frisch's is also now facing a lawsuit from FC Cincinnati, which alleges the restaurant chain owes it over $156,000 for a sponsorship deal.

A magistrate wants to deny everyone Hot Fudge Cakes, a judge wants to deny everyone Brawny Lads.  What is the world coming to!?

I heard talk of the one in Independence, near Simon Kenton, closing as well.  Haven't seen it on any of the lists though and as far as I know it is still open.

Good article about the end of family dining. This is what I think Frisch's is caught in. And Bob Evans. And similar places catering to middle class family dining. Red Lobster and Fridays are bankrupt. Smaller drive thru focused restaurants are moving in.

I have a Red Lobster gift card in my kitchen drawer.  Maybe I ought to use it sooner rather than later.  I had the same issue a couple years ago with a Ruby Tuesday gift card.  The one in Cold Spring closed and we ended up going all the way to Sharonville, OH to use the gift card.

The chains moving in are food I like better.

I see LongHorn Steakhouse is taking over one location in that article, I ate at the Florence location recently and it was terrific.

I just read an article claiming Frisch's owes over 4.5 million in rent. ?

WCPO 9 Cincinnati has this headline on Facebook about an ex-Frisch's employee:

Haley Johnson said she received a document on her last day asking her if she wanted to transfer to another location. The other option is resigning. She refused to sign the document and later found out she was fired.

That sounds like a company that knows they won't be around to have to clean up any PR issues.

Now an ownership group says they have acquired multiple locations.

Hopefully the ones that survive will be awesome again like we all remember.
